Sympathy Cards

My mom has requested some sympathy cards, and I noticed that my supply of those was getting low, so I've been making some sympathy cards here and there for my stash.  This is one kind of card that I never like to make when I need it--I'd much prefer to just be able to pull something out that is ready made.

These two are the same except for color--the first one is SU Soft Sky and the second one is SU Baja Breeze.  These cards are a redo of this birthday card.  Stamps are Crackle Background and Peaceful Garden, and the die is Memorybox Prim Poppy.

I couldn't lighten this one up without the colors looking totally garish--they are Fine Linen, Kraft and Versafine Vintage Sepia.

I was inspired by this card for my next card.   The die is from Sizzix and I can't remember the exact name, and the sentiment is from Verve Forever in Our Hearts.

My last card uses generational stamping with a variety of PTI greens and stamps from Verve Forever in Our Hearts.

That's it for me today.  I sure hope that we won't use up all these cards too quickly.

Thanks for Visiting

  2. Joyce, what a wonderful collection of sympathy cards. I know these are not the easiest cards to make but you made each and everyone with so much feeling. I am sure your mother will love them too and appreciate the work that you put into each one.

  9. I love these cards! I may have to CASE a couple of them. There seems to be a sudden call for sympathy cards *to have on hand.* I'm hoping we don't have to use them anytime soon. I think my favorite is the stamped green ferns. Lovely cards all!

  13. Yeah, they are not fun cards to have to make but you've done a gorgeous job with these. I love the crackle background and the bamboo on the third card. Your generational stamping g on the last card is gorgeous too! Lots of wonderful movement.

  14. I agree, Joyce, sympathy cards aren't easy ... with these, though, you've created a real sense of peace about them ... in the soft and gentle colours and in the 'movement' of the images. So lovely! Anita :)
