My first card for today is for this week's ColourQ cQc #202 and follows this sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping #253. This is my first time playing at Clean & Simple, but when I saw this beautiful card on Kim's blog, I decided to check it out for myself. I used the three circles from Sketched Shapes, and also stamped part of the sentiment on colored paper and fussy cut, just like the example I saw.
My next card was inspired by the Monday Mood Board at WPlus9 as well as this week's Tuesday Trigger: I'm Craving Navy. I was inspired by the color navy, the stripes in both photos, the whole nautical vibe and the sailboat on the dresser in the Tuesday Trigger photo. Also, I was inspired by all the new nautical goodies I just bought (wink). I stamped some stripes using SU Night of Navy and PTI Distressed Stripes. The sentiments are from my new WPlus9 Dockside set, and the sail boat is from the Nautical Notions dies.
Last up today is a card for Lil Inker's 3rd birthday challenge. I see so many ways to be inspired by these pictures that I think I will be playing along a few more times. Today, I took my inspiration from that funky layer cake. Now, I would never in a million years eat a cake that looked like that--not enough chocolate to suit me--but it did get my creative juices flowing. After adhering all the layers of scallops, I cut the bottom of the card along the shape of the scallop--just for fun.

Love the cards, Joyce! You're 3-for-3 on inspiration today.
ReplyDeleteThat cake was a labor of love, so I'm glad you found it inspiring! I made it for my baby girl's first birthday last month. Would it sway you if you knew that the cake was filled with homemade strawberry jam? Covered in light, whipped frosting? Over 6" of moist, fluffy goodness? I save the decadent chocolate cakes for my husband's birthday.
Wonderful cards the nautical is my favourite. The w9plus mood board has fab inspiration too.
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the sketch - I'd love for you to link up at 52 Card Pickup this week!

Fun cards Joyce. I love how you've used the Sketched Shapes and your nautical card is perfect. And I really like your take on the inspiration photo. Such a fun and bright card. I bought that die -- I should probably use it sometime.
ReplyDeleteHome run with all three cards, Joyce! Each is so unique, so clever, so beautiful! While the challenges have fueled your inspiration, your cards in turn, have inspired me! I didn't look closely at the rainbow coloured cake until I saw your card: cake craving and 'want to make a striped card' sparked. Thanks for sharing and inspiring; a whole lot of fun here!!
