Three Cards for Wednesday

Color Throwdown CTD250 is celebrating their 250th challenge, and they have these pretty colors to work with, and a whole bunch of fabulous prizes, too.  I was inspired by the way Lizzie Jones used die cuts and negative cuts for her balloons this morning here, and decided to make my card using that technique, too.  Can you see--the Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores Balloons are die cut and popped out, and the Lemon Tart Balloon is cut out from the card base.

I am also playing along with this week's Make it Monday MIM#124 to make a card and matching envelope, so I made an envelope to match this card.

My next card uses the colors of this week's ColourQ cQc #197, and one of my very oldest (favorite) Hero Arts stamps--Design Block Thank You.  It is one massive wooden stamp--not something I would ever buy now, but it was fun to pull it out for the A Blog Named Hero Playing Favorites challenge.  This is such a great challenge because it is getting me to pull out all sorts of oldies but goodies.

This stamp covers the entire card with all sorts of 'thank you' statements--perhaps it is a predecessor to the current Subway trend?  I took a small stamp from Blossom Art and stamped flowers in a random pattern on the card.  I was going for a patterned paper look.

I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp and Show A Little Stamping challenge, the Hero Arts One Layer Card Challenge, and the Tuesday Trigger for the Moxie Fab World because I was inspired by these colors.

I made one more card using this same idea for the Simon Says Stamp and Show A Little Stamping, the Hero Arts One Layer Card Challenge, and A Blog Named Hero Playing Favorites challenges.  I used  Design Block Birthday and a balloon stamp from PTI.

  22. If you don't win something from the Colour Throwdown challenge then something is seriously wrong with the world! Love the way you layered the balloons! As for the other two cards - what a brilliant way to use those background stamps! I always seem to use them very subtly in the background but this is so much fun! Definitely gonna CASE these!
