Time Out #179...Reminder...#lovemydog

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by YOU!!!  You can make a card that reflects you in any way you like...favorite card making style, hobbies, family, pet, where you live, etc.

I used stamps from our wonderful and generous sponsor, STAMPlorations to create my card.  I am always out walking my dog, so I used Hashtag Walkies and Houses Extra to create the scene on my card.  I must admit that I don't usually look this elegant, and I have never worn matching outfits with my dog.  My coat, hat and dog outfit are paper pieced...the rest of my imagers are colored with Copics.

I am also going to enter this card at STAMPlorations Anything Goes CAS challenge and the STAMPlorations never ending anything Goes challenge.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Anila and the Time Out Design Team.  STAMPlorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #382...Unite

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is UNITE.  I thought of our united states....although we may not seem very united lately, I have hopes that things will improve this year.

I used What the Doodle stamps and dies by PTI for this card, and I put a little heart where I live (Southern California) and where my daughter and many family members are... (New York).

Now it's your turn.  How does UNITE inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Tracy  and the design team.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I've had  bits of time here and there this week, and have managed to create a number of cards.  First up is this floral card using a stencil from Altenew called Rose Bouquet.  I'm not sure if there is a trick to working with this stencil, but what I did to get the flowers and leaves to be different colors was loads of masking with post-it notes.

I am entering this card at CAS(E) this Sketch #404, The Flower Challenge #52: Embossing (I used dry embossing with a cover plate), Inspired by #157: Everything is a Bouquet, Inkspirational #230: Mask,  Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes, and Shopping Our Stash #436: What's new with you.

Next up is a pair of birthday cards in an ombre of blues.  I started with a panel of white card stock, and sponged and blended several Distress Oxide inks, starting with the lightest shades at the top and ending with the darkest at the bottom.  I cut this panel using Poppystamps Happy birthday Background die.  I placed all the die cut letters in a white card front cut with the same die.  I was left with the blue sponged die cut negative, and I adhered that to a white card base to make a second card that is the mirror image of the first.  I think I may even like the second card a little better.

I am entering both of these cards at Poppy Challenge #76: monochrome, Just Us Girls #567,  WWC304: Occasions, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

I have been meaning to use my new MFT Zippy Zebras, and the MFT Sketch #524 challenge and MFT Color #157 challenges inspired my next card.  I am also entering this card at The Male Room #146: Animals, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up, Shopping Our Stash #436: What's new with you, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies and Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge: Short and/or Tall (tall).

I have two cards I made inspired by Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #19: Include a Heart.  I used stamps and dies from one of last year's My Monthly Hero kits.  I am also entering this first card at Addicted to Stamps and More #396: Make Your Mark and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up.

Last up for today are two cards for next Christmas (already!)  They are inspired by the following challenges:  Color Hue #10: Navy & Cream, Addicted to CAS #189: Snow, The Paper Players #524: Snow, and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge: Anything Goes.

I have to give a special shout out to the inspiration from LeAnne, who inspired me to pull out the same stamp she used.

I am also entering the last card at Freshly Made Sketches #468 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello friends.  I am popping in quickly to share a Valentine's Day card using some vintage (OLD!!) PTI stamps and dies.  I made a really big investment of time a couple of years ago to put all my stamps, dies and stencils in Evernote, and I have been keeping it updated every time I get new supplies (every day?).  This has made it so much easier to find and use supplies I have forgotten about.

This card uses PTI Tree Tops stamps and dies, Keep it Simple Valentine's Day stamps, and the Heart Cover Plate.  I die cute my card front with that cover plate, and then glued all the hearts back in.  I like the white on white texture, and it also gave me a good place for my sentiment.

I am entering this card at Ink to Paper Melissa's Fab Friday Feature to 'Create a Heart Card', CAS Colours & Sketches #402, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies, and WWC304: All About Occasions.

My Crafty New Year

I have so many cards that I have been working on over the past few days...let's get started.

First up is a trio of cards I created using some new stamps and stencils from The Greetery called Fresh Florals.  I ordered this bundle when The Greetery had a sale, and I think they are some of my favorite flowers...The stencils take away much of the guess work of lining up multi layer images.

First up, I created a stenciled and stamped panel using the colors from Color Throwdown #624.  Even though the background is floral, I think I could use this as a masculine card because of the colors.

I created another panel using a variety of purple inks and papers.  I am entering this card at AAA Birthday Challenge #21: A Stencil Background.

My third color ways with these stamps and stencils is a get well card, and I am inspired by the challenge at CAS on Friday #221: Feel Better.  I am entering this card as well as the purple card above at WWC303: Anything Goes Feminine.

Next up is a card I made by first creating a snowy background using the SSS Falling Snow stencil with glitter embossing paste, and then by die cutting the Mama Elephant Big Happy Birthday die and sponging with various shades of purple ink. I added a few Little Cat Agenda stamps to add to the birthday party.  I am entering this card at Seize the Birthday #205: Snowy Background, AAA Birthday Challenge #21: A Stencil Background, Just Us Girls #566: Use a Stencil, and Addicted to Stamps and More #396: Make Your Mark.

When I saw the Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day challenge at Festive Friday #0075, I knew I had to play along.  And I don't just mean to make a card, if you get my drift.....I pulled out my Concord & 9th Cool Treats stamps and dies, and made this summery ice cream card.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #181: Up to 1/3 + Summer in January and Addicted to CAS #188: Embossing.

Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #139: Cozy Winter inspired me to mask and stamp this cozy scene.  Isn't that a wonderful way to spend a chilly winter afternoon?  I stamped a frame of snow around my scene, to let everyone know how cold it is outside and warm and cozy inside.  I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #230: Mask and Addicted to Stamps and More #396: Make Your Mark.

Last up is a trio of what were some of the last Christmas cards I made in December, but did not yet have a chance to post.  I am entering all three at Kat Scrappiness Winter Challenge, CAS Christmas January Challenge: Silhouette, Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge Anything Goes, and Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge: Short and/or Tall (my cityscape is made of very tall buildings and skyscrapers, and all three of my slimline cards are very short).
