Hello and happy Monday. I realized I am completely out of Father's Day cards, so that is what I have been focusing on lately. First up is a card inspired by my brand new Mama Elephant Urban City stamp and Addicted to CAS #198 : Ombre. This card was so quick and easy to make because I started with a piece of ombre card stock from Lil Inkers Dip Dyed Ombre paper. I am also entering this card at WWC316: Occasions (Father's Day).
I made another Father's Day card with the same stamp, this time adding inlaid die cutting to the mix. I diecut the word 'DAD' using an old 'DAD' die from Lil Inker, then sponged it with 3 different shades of Hero Arts blue ink. Before inserting the die cut back into the front panel, I built it up with several additional blue die cuts. I added the 'happy father's day' sentiment on a small strip of white card stock.
I will be entering this card at Addicted to CAS #198 : Ombre, Addicted to Stamps and More #405: Dies, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Dies, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.
My next two cards were inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #486, and I am squeaking in at the last minute to get them linked up. I used the Halfsies Diamond die from The Greetery to create that curved shape on the left of the sketch, although my curve is more angular.
I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn pattern paper that looked quite masculine to me, stamped a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Man of the Hour and then added a few star die cuts from PTI. Wow, I am seeing that I have used so much old stuff on my cards today, and much of that is from companies that are no longer in business.
This card uses that same Halfsies die, but instead of patterned paper, I stamped Brutus Monroe Library Background in Autumn Rose ink on a piece of white card stock. I added texture to my background, and my sentiment is the die cut Happy Birthday Script from MFT. I am also entering this card at AAA Birthday #25, AAA Cards # 190, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Dies, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.
And, last up for today, another Father's Day card, this one inspired by the sketch at Less is More #443. I am also entering this card at The Sisterhood of Snark #185: A is for Animal and WWC316: Occasions (Birthday). I think that this bird from Tim Holtz Bird Crazy is such a fun character.
Thanks for Visiting

ReplyDeleteI see your first card and wonder a bit why we cardmakers go to all the trouble of ink-blending a background when there is patterned paper like this! Perfect for your cityscape. I definitely like the second version, too, with the raised die cut sentiment. And look at that bookish background stamp - complete with cats!!! (Adds to wish list...) Finally, I love your monochrome crazy bird - he's one of my favourites, too. And though I'm way later than I should be, thanks for joining us at Addicted to Stamps and More and the Sisterhood!
