There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this photo:

I took my inspiration from the wood on the wall and the cute potted succulents below.  I loved the look of those little potted succulents, and decided to create a succulent arrangement on my card.  I used Pot- Pourri stamps from The Greetery

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and our lovely Guest Designer, RahmatAltenew is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #377...Sunset

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SUNSET.

My big dilemma for this cue word...beach or city...beach or city...hmmm.  Since I live near the beach but haven't been to a city in ever so long, I decided to go on a virtual visit to the big city with my card.  I created a sunset color scheme by blending several colors of distress inks on the top 1/3 of my card front, and then adhered the Cityscape die cut by Mama Elephant right on top.

This is a pretty simple design, and one that allows for a lot to be going on in just 1/3 of the card, and the rest of the card to be open white space.

Now it's your turn.  How does SUNSET inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Marina  and the design team.  We are sponsored this week by Uniko.

Think Pink

I am popping in quickly with a card inspired by the Poppystamps Challenge #73: Think Pink.  I used the Poppystamps Party Lantern die, and cut every shade of pink paper I own.  I think this card looks like a pink party.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Movie Inspired (Pretty in Pink).

Three Hero Arts Slimline Cards

Hello and happy Sunday.  This weekend, I focused on making some slimline cards.  Sometimes it is fun to mix it up a little.  Also, I wanted to participate in the Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #16 challenge, which is all about slimline holiday cards.  I am also entering all of these cards at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to Layer It Up.

I started out by stamping, coloring and fussy cutting most of the images in Hero Arts Cozy Town.  Then I had lots of bits I could move around and experiment with.  My first card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #458.  I added just a bit of sponged sky over the houses and trees, and made some snow with a stencil and embossing paste.

I used more of those houses and trees for my next card.  I cut snowbanks and stacked my little neighborhoods.

Last up is a card using Distress Fired Brick and a few Distress ink blue colors.  These colors were inspired by the challenge at Color Hues #4.  I blended Fired Brick ink on a brick stencil, then created my windows.  I stamped the Hero Arts Bare Branched Tree onto a piece of card stock, then cut three windows out of the middle section.  I had the idea that you could look out the stacked windows and see how the tree was growing.  Not sure that you can actually get that it is different views of the same tree, but.... I'm OK with this card, but I also think maybe it's a little too busy for me.

I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero to make a card with a See Through Element (windows) and WWC294: Anything Goes Masculine.

Two Cozy Cards

My first card today features this adorable Lawn Fawn bear from Den Sweet Den.  He has read all his books and is now taking a little nap.  Doesn't he look cozy?

I am entering this card at Lawnfawnatics #87,  CAS on Friday #191: Plaid and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Layer it Up.

My second card features these two adorable mice friends from Waffle Flower.  They are enjoying a cozy cup of hot cocoa and just hanging out together.  I couldn't decide what sentiment to use or where to even put a sentiment, so I am leaving it out for now.

I am entering this card at AAA Cards #176: One Corner plus optional twist Cozy and Inspired by #147:  Fall is Sweet.  Aren't these mice sweet, drinking hot cocoa from their mugs, just like some of the mugs in the inspiration photo.

Three Card Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday.  I'm popping in to share a few cards I've made this week.

First up is a card inspired by the current sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #511.   I used images from MFT Our Story along with my new Let's Connect die and some paper from MFT Christmas Cheer for this fun card.

Still playing with that monitor die, I made a fun birthday card, and I am entering it at the MFT Birthday Project Challenge.  I used paper scraps for everything on my card front, including two bits of patterned paper, a piece of vellum to tone down the patterned paper, and scrap paper for all my die cuts.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #201: Use Your Scraps and WWC293.

Last up is a fun and spooky card in the spirit of Halloween.  I used some Halloween colors to cut out some glasses using Catherine Pooler Pet Specs dies, then adhered them to a piece of black card stock that I embossed with a spiderweb embossing folder.  A few pair of googlie eyes and some rhinestones completed this card.

I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Spooky, Inspired by #146: be my boo, Inkspirational #223: Angle it, and Shopping Our Stash #431: Happy Fall (Halloween says 'fall' to me).

Time Out #172...Reminder...Hang in There

Hello there.  There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, our theme is Breast Cancer Awareness.  We challenge you to make an encouragement card with the optional twist of 'Add Some Pink'.

I used this adorable stamp set from our generous sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps called Somebunny.  My little bunny is hanging on to her pink balloon for all she's worth.  To make this card, I first stamped the bunny, then masked the entire image and lightly sponged a stencil in the background.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and our Guest Designer, Dhruvika.  CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #376...Dry

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is DRY.  I think I probably had 'laundry on the brain' because all I could think of for this cue word was --watching the clothes dry.  I had this really fun holiday stamp from Pink & Main, and so I went with that.  If I had thought about it more, or perhaps been crafting after dinner, I think I would have gone with a dry white wine...perhaps a Reisling...

Now it's your turn.  How does DRY inspire you?  Laundry, Wine, drying your hair?  Or how about that dry skin we all get in the winter?  At any rate, I hope you have some fun with this one and play along.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Jasleen and the design team.  We are sponsored this week by STAMPlorations.
