Time Out #160...Reminder...Happy Birthday

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be inspired by the photo below...

Here is a larger version of the photo.  There is so much in this photo to be inspired by.  What will you choose?

I was inspired by the color scheme--black and yellow--and the various patterns I saw on the chair, pillow and foot stool.  I used a graphic stamp from Uniko called Mid Century Modern II

I stamped the image once in black on white card stock, then filled in some of the open shapes with yellow Copic markers.  I used white embossing powder on black cardstock for my card front.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Ana, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge. Uniko is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week 367...Magical

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is MAGICAL.  I used these two adorable mermaids, some of my favorite magical beings.  I had these gals from a week long stamping extravaganza with Kim at Tracey's house.

Now it's your turn.  How does MAGICAL inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is Uniko.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I had a crafty weekend, and now I can post what I have made.

First up is a Mother's Day card using PTI Grans Garden that was inspired by the Project Reach Out Challenge at Ink to Paper, the photo at Just us Girls #533, the sketch at Just Add Ink #502.

This next card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #369 (especially Donna's and Michele's fun skateboard cards), AAA Birthday #12: Dots and/or Stripes (dots on the dog's hat, stripes on the bird's party favor), Color Throwdown #590, and Stay Crafty with Hero #6: Out of the Box (using the sentiment as a skateboard for my dog).

Here's a fun one, using a brand new to me stamp from Picket Fence called Leave as a Friend.  I am entering this card at AAA Cards #164: One image + optional twist inspired by TV.  My card is inspired by Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (the TV show which I grew up on) and this card represents the Neighborhood of Make Believe.  Difficult to see in this photo, but I used an impression plate to texture the card behind the neighborhood with sun rays.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #386: Anything Goes.

I am entering my next card at the Paper Smooches Happy Things challenge, using the sketch at The Paper Players #448.  I created a happy little scene using Paper Smooches Promenade stamps, and I am depicting where I will finally meet a friend for ice cream or coffee, once the quarantine is lifted.  These stamps are at least 5 years old, so I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #133:  Anything Goes.

Finally, a Hoppy Birthday card using some Pond Frog dies from Poppystamps.  I am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #67: Puddle Jumping, Perfectly CAS #8: Masking. and CAS Colours & Sketches #367.

That's it for me today.

Just 3 Cards...

Just popping in quickly at the start of the weekend to post 3 quick cards.

First up is a card inspired by the Project Reachout: You are My Favorite Challenge.  I decided to use a sentiment from Think Big Favorites as my favorite element.  I have been meaning to make a cheery card using this sentiment, as it is perfect for today's situation.

I stamped sun rays in the upper left corner from Hello sunshine, a sun from Heart 2 Heart, and added a frame from Infinity Frames and texture from the Stitching Impression Plate.  The clouds are L'il Inker.

I am also entering this card at Retro Rubber #133: Anything Goes.  The stamps on this card are all at least 5 years old.

Next up is the final card I am entering at AAA Cards #163, as the challenge is almost over.  It was such a great sketch, it inspired quite a few of my cards these past few weeks.  I used a die set from PTI called Kay's Critters Cuddly Cats along with Cat's Meow.

Last up today is a card inspired by the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #6: Out of the Box.  I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Stamps and Dies.  I used die cuts to create some white on white texture as well as a border--that is my 'out of the box' use for the ice cream cone die.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #189:  Food and/or Drink.

Two Cards for Tuesday, no wait, it's Wednesday

Happy Tuesday.  I am popping in with a quick post of two cards.  The challenge at Ink to Paper Project Reach Out is 'Special Delivery'.  This made me think of the mail, so I pulled out Fence Line Summer, which has this really cute rural mail box, and made a card to send to a friend who I don't get to see right now.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Sunday #178: Bunnies...there is the smallest bunny ever hiding in the flowers under the mail box.  I hope to return later this week with another card with more and bigger bunnies.

My next card is inspired by the Seize the Heroes Challenge #188, the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #368 and Addicted to CAS #183: Animal.  This card will go to a friend who is a medical professional, on the front lines in the hospital.

That's it for me today.

My Crafty Round Up

Warning....lots of card photos...I had a super crafty weekend.

First up is this birthday card featuring circles (balloons and focal point) for MFT Birthday Project, Seize the Birthday #187: Spring Fling (colors and little chickies) and Addicted to CAS #183: Animal.

I am playing along at Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #121: Birthday Theme for I think the first time, using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches #366 and the colors from Color Throwdown #589.

My next card is inspired by the challenge at Ink to Paper Project Reachout: Keep Swimming and the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #368.

Next is a card going to one of my friends who is a health worker super hero, and I am entering it at the new Seize the Birthday/Seize the Heroes #188 and MFT Color Challenge #139.  I used a band aid die from PTI to ground my super heros.

Another encouragement card with the same sentiment as this card from earlier in the week, and I am also linking it up at Cupcake Inspirations #491.

I am getting a Holiday Headstart with the latest challenge from Stay Crafty with Hero #5, and I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero Water Coloring challenge.

And, now I have two sympathy cards, as I try to rebuild my stash of these important, yet hard to make cards.  I am entering this card at Perfectly CAS #8: Masking.

My final card is very similar to the card I made earlier in the week here, and I am also entering it at AAA Cards #163.

Well, that's it for me today.  It is amazing how crafty I can be when I am stuck in the house.
