Mid-Week Crafty Update

Just a quick update to share a few cards I made over the weekend.  First up is this super fun bookcase birthday card that I made using a relatively new Hero Arts wooden stamp and my Copic markers.

It is a little hard to see in this photo, but the bottom row has the word 'birthday' die cut, stacked and inlaid back in.  I am entering this card at The Library Challenge #27:  Spark Joy.   An entire bookshelf, organized by rainbow color would truly spark joy for me.  Also, as the topic of Spark Joy is to declutter and organize, this is what my actual bookcase might look like after going through that process (in my dreams).

Next up is a card using one of my favorite PTI dies 'In the Woods' for Lauries Fabulous Favorites Challenge at PTI.  I am also entering this card at Inkspiration #181:  Use Your Stash.

Last up is a one layer card with a focus on the sentiment.  I used an old inspirational sentiment from MFT and spruced the card up with some images from PTI Watercolor Wonder and embossed texture.

I am entering this card at Less is More #389: Focus on the Sentiment and Just Add Ink #445: Just Add Embossing.

CASology Week #333...Bounce

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is BOUNCE.  I was thinking of the expression a bouncing baby, and also that kangaroos bounce.

Now it's your turn.  How does BOUNCE inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer, Bobby, and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is Uniko.

Time Out #129...Reminder...Happy Retirement

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is a theme challenge with an optional twist.  The theme is RETRO and the optional twist is ONE LAYER.

I decided to use this retro wood paneled station wagon as my focal image.  It reminds me of the classic cars that all gather downtown in the summer in my town.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Esther, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.   Sarah Gray's online shop Folksy  is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #332...Furbaby

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FURBABY.

Well, it is no secret around these parts that my furbaby is the handsome and charming Sherlock.

I used Mama Elephants Puppy Play stamps to create this card that Sherlock can use to wish any of his friends or family members a happy birthday.  (I probably should mass produce this one, as I know a lot of people who would love a card from Sherlock).

Now it's your turn.  How does FURBABY inspire you?  And, please post a picture of your furbaby, if you have one.  I'd love to take a peek.

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image

A Little Bit of Crafty Fun

Hello and happy Sunday.  I had a little time to play this weekend.  First up is a fun birthday card using my new MFT Super Dog stamps.  I was inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #424.

I am also entering this card at Shopping Our Stash #389:  Make Your Mark,  and Seize the Birthday #159:  Anything Goes.

Next up is a card inspired by several challenges.  PTI challenges us to use our favorite cardstock colors for Laurie's Fabulous Favorites.  I chose Raspberry Fizz--one of several favorite PTI colors.

I am also entering this card at Color Throw Down #530AAA #431: One Corner, the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #308, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Black, White & 1 Color.

Last up is a Valentines card that I am entering at Poppystamps #53: Love Me Do and Addicted to Stamps & More #328: Holiday.  I used Capri Heart die, cut 4 times, to create a focal point for my Valentine's Day card.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is WAVE.  Although I am not a surfer, I live in a surf town, so I immediately had some Beach Boys music playing in my head as I thought of 'Catch a Wave'  I pulled out an oldie but goodie PTI stamp set, Aloha for my card.

Now it's your turn.  How does WAVE inspire you?

Happy Retirement

Hello and happy Sunday.  I am popping in to share a card I made for 2 different Papertrey Challenges.

For the first challenge, Laurie challenged us to make a card using our favorite PTI stamps.  I could not decide between City Scene and Harvest Berries--2 older sets that I use all the time and totally love.  I think this challenge may be called Fabulous Favorites.

The second challenge is Transformation Tuesday.  I took a feminine card that I had previously made and made it more masculine.

Here is my original card.

Time Out #128...Reminder...Wherever You Go....

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is a home sweet home photo challenge.

Here is a bigger picture of just the image.

I was inspired by the heart and the colors of red and cream.  I used All Your Heart-Say it Big stamp from our generous sponsor, Stamplorations, for my card.  I used Red and White ink, applied with an ink blender, but pounced rather than stamped, to create a dreamy red and white background, and then just stamped my sentiment in the corner.  After that, I created some texture using an impression plate.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is  , so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #330...Bouquet

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is BOUQUET.

I used PTI Fresh Bouquet stamps for my card, with a traditional interpretation of BOUQUET.  After I made this card, I thought that I could have done something with one of the many wine-themed stamps I have.  Any takers for this idea?

Now it's your turn.  How does BOUQUET inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments

My Crafty Roundup

I have finally had a crafty weekend!  Here's what I made:

I am entering this card at PTI Make it Monday #349: Negative Die Cut Backgrounds.  I used a die from the Shakers and Sprinkles kit, which I had completely forgotten about.  I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #473: LOVE and Simon Says Monday Challenge: Love is in the Air.

My next card was inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink #442 and The Paper Players #427: Love is in the Air.

Last of the 'love' cards is a card I made inspired by the challenges at Poppystamps #53: Love Me Do and Addicted to Stamps and More #326: Anything Goes.  I used the Party Lanterns die from Poppystamps for this card, and cut my lanterns out of a paint chip, which is how I got the nice ombre colors.  I am also entering this card at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #127: V is for Valentine.  Still not a snarky card, but this is the least mushy of my 3 valentines today.

Next up is a card inspired by the sketch at  MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge#422.  I rotated the sketch by 90 degrees and used some of my newest MFT wine stamps and dies.

I used Copics to color this festive penguin, and am entering this card at Day 1 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  It's my first time playing along, and I am going to try to participate as much as I can.

I am also entering this card at CAS(E) this Sketch #307, Addicted to CAS # 152: Birds, CAS on Friday #150: Birthday.

Last up is a pair of black and white birthday cards inspired by the challenge at Seize the Birthday

I made a second version of this card, and am entering it at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
