Welcome to my Sunday evening wrap up. I've been working on holiday cards this weekend.
First up is a card inspired by the photo at Retro Rubber #77 and I am using Dashing stamps that are 1 year old by Avery Elle. The card is paper pieced using Lawn Fawn papers.
I am also entering this card at AAA #105 and Addicted to CAS #123 who both have Sparkle as the challenge this week. It is a little hard to see in the photo, but the star atop the tree is coated with WOS and the ornaments are gold glitter.
My next card uses the colors at Color Throwdown #472 and is also for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Gift It.
I got some new snowflake dies, and made 3 cards playing around with those dies and some new sentiment dies.
I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #250 for my first card. I die cut the snowflakes, and then inlaid them back into the card. I do not recommend this technique for such an intricate die, as it was kind of a pain, although I do like how it came out.
Here is a close up of the embossing...
I used the larger snowflake die to create a white on white texture for my last card, which I am entering at Simon Says Monday Icy Inspiration Challenge.
Thanks for Visiting
Oh my goodness! Your posts are always such a feast for the eyes! I am always impressed by your versatility in terms of the cards you create. You can do whimsical, elegant, clean and simple all with total skill! There is so much to see and to love here, but I am particularly in love with the candy-cane-striped car! So clever and fun! Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

ReplyDeleteOh, these are all fantastic, Joyce! I love your little striped car and your pretty snowflake cards! When I saw your first one and read your comment about how much work it was, I thought: "I guess you could impress the die instead, but I wouldn't be as crisp" and then scrolled down to see that that's what you did! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have been such a busy crafter! All of your cards are wonderful and the car one you did is great for our challenge at Retro Rubber! The papers used really made them special. I will have to remember that design paper can be used instead of cardstock. Thank you for playing with us at Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again next year! LOL Happy Holidays!
