The 12 Kits of Occasions: December, 2016

It's time for our December 12 Kits of Occasions group post.  Our host this month is Jessica from The Paper Parade and her theme is Christmas thank you.  Just in time, too.  What a fantastic and useful kit theme.  Jessica sent out a wonderful kit with images that ran the gamut from classy and elegant to fun and whimsical.

Here is a peek at the kit Jessica sent.

I made 5 cards using elements from the kit, and have already used some of the cards.  I have oodles of leftovers--lots of good stuff I just didn't get a chance to play with yet.

I still did not use everything that Jessica put in the kit--I still have so many adorable images and elegant patterned papers for another day.

Please visit us over at the 12 Kits of Occasions blog, where you can see a list of all the other designers and click over to their blogs.

Bittersweet news from me today--this is my last post as a 12 Kits of Occasions Designer.  It is my 60th 12 Kits post, and before that, there were 22 posts with the group that preceded The 12 Kits group.    So many wonderful kits sent and received.  Hundreds of cards made.  Boxes and boxes of leftovers.  I have made so many friends and crafted along with some amazing women.  I treasure the friendships and memories.  But, I have been trying to simplify things and pare down my crafting commitments so I can concentrate more on just crafting whatever and whenever I want.

I'll still be crafting and blogging, so please continue to come visit.  And the 12 Kits of Occasions group is still going strong.  Check out the group 12 Kits of Occasions blog for all the latest news.

Time Out #73...Reminder...Follow Your Dreams

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is inspired by words:

"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning."

I was inspired by this quote to sponge some sunrise colors as well as to use an encouraging sentiment.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Marina, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #229: Toast

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is toast.  This one had me wishing for one of those cute kitchen stamp sets with a smiling toaster.  But, that was not to be.  I thought of a champagne toast in honor of a happy occasion.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Monday Challenge: Party Time.

Now it's your turn.  How does TOAST inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Happy Birthday

I have a quick post sneaking in a card for this week's PTI Create Along with Us.  My inspiration is this card from Laurie, and I was inspired by her use of the new Splits set, metallic ink,  white embossing and water color.

Time Out #72...Reminder...Merry and Bright

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is a CASE challenge, and we have this amazing card from my bestie Kim of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim to inspire us.

Kim's Inspiration Card

I was inspired the kims brightly colored flowers and those delicate stems, and also by the placement of her sentiment and images.  Swap the flowers for Christmas lights and the stems for a bit of electrical wire and you have my holiday CASE of Kim's card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Deepti, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #228: Bow

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is BOW.   I used a die to make my bow and created a focal point on a panel smaller than my card front.

And, for a bit more inspiration from me, check out the post just before this one, where I have a card made with a few bow stamps from The Ton.

Now it's your turn.  How does BOW inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Holiday and Birthday Card

I made a holiday card with the sweet mouse (rat) from Christmas Critters, inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #201.

I am also entering this card at SSS Monday Challenge Christmas Gifts, Addicted to Stamps and More #223 Holiday and AAA Cards Game #79 Christmas.

I am running seriously low on birthday cards, so I used the colors from Color Throwdown #422 to create this birthday card.

Cupcake Inspirations....Guest Designer...Bring on the Cake

I am so pleased to be posting today as a Surprise Sweetie Guest Designer at Cupcake Inspirations. We have this scrumptious cupcake and color scheme to inspire us.

I need to replenish my stash of birthday cards, so I decided to use a brand new stamp set I recently bought from Sugar Peas called Bring On The Cake.

My card stock is PTI Vintage Cream and my inks are Pure Poppy and Delicata Gold.  Very hard to see in the photo, but I stamped some streamers in Versamark ink around the top of the cupcake.  More festive in person.

I am also entering this card at Sugar Peas Mix it Up Challenge #26--Anything Goes.

There will be more inspiration on the Cupcake Inspirations blog.  I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

My Crafty Week

I should have been grocery shopping, doing laundry, and a hundred other things.  But, I made some cards instead.

I used the technique from this week's Make it Monday #269 on my first card.  After outlining my image in Copic marker, I also sponged Raspberry Fizz ink around the center of the flower.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #102: Congratulations and The Flower Challenge #3 to use an older stamp.  Doesn't get too much older than Friends till the End.

I was inspired by this beautiful card at MUSE Challenge #95.  I pulled out a brand new landscape die from Sugar Pea Designs, and also wanted to have my sentiment curve around the die cut, just like Anita did on her inspiration card.

MUSE Inspiration Card

I am also entering this card at Sugar Pea Mix it Up Challenge #26: Anything Goes.

I was inspired by quite a few challenges to pull out my old Candy Cane Christmas stamps and dies for this next card.

The challenge this month at Memory Box #19 is Metalllics, so I dressed my polar bear in a bit of gold before sending him on his way to say hello to my daughter in Maine, whose school mascot is a polar bear.

Last up is a birthday card for my neice who is studying to be a teacher.  I am entering this card at Less is More #305 where the challenge is primary colors.  (Now, I am wondering if green is actually a primary color or not???)

Well, that's it for me today.  I really cannot put off making dinner any longer.
