Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology. This week, our cue word is Dream.
I combined a sentiment from PTI Get Lost with sentiments and images from PTI Retro Style Graduation to make a graduation card. Transitional events like graduations seem to be a good time to take stock of one's dreams and make a plan to pursue them.
Funny thing about that little road sign that my daughter (a recent high school grad) pointed out to me when I showed her this card--why would the 'aspirations' point in the opposite direction of your 'hopes' and 'dreams' ? How does that make sense? Do you need to give up one in order to pursue the other? Well, I think she is right, but I guess whoever made the stamp set thought that it would look better to have the arrows alternating. Interesting food for thought....
While I had my Misti set up, I made a second version of this card in a different color scheme.
Now, it's your turn. How does DREAM inspire you? I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.
Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Thanks for Visiting

ReplyDeleteYour daughter sounds like a smart girl :) I love that you chose this set, and your color combo on both cards are fabulous! I'm also loving all the texture you added with the DSP's...As always, you nailed it with the Cue Card!

ReplyDeleteLove these two perfect-for-Graduates cards, Joyce.
ReplyDeletePS: As to your astute daughter's point ~ you could always fussy cut the arrow to go in the same direction ;-)

I love the way your daughter's mind works, Joyce ... she will go far! Perhaps these arrows indicate how one's aspirations may change along the way? and will one day go full circle, where these arrows will indeed meet again! Oh this is way too much thinking ... fabulous cards!!! LOve that canoe pp!!!! whose is it anyway? xx [one day I'll be back to my normal rounds!]

Wonderful cards, Joyce! While the arrows are a product of artistic liberties, I love your daughter's comment! Guess you are just showing all the options that are ahead for any graduate and saying to not forget your dreams when all those other things show up!!
ReplyDelete(Joyce, I think like your daughter! I was happy to see that "hopes" and "dreams" are painted in the same direction!). Your card is a fabulous take on the cue, and an amazing graduation card! Love the colors and the variety of patterned papers you used on both cards!
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderfully inspiring cards, Joyce...and yes, your daughter is quite observant! I'll go with your explanation: just a 'designer' thing! I hope all her dreams, goals and aspirations come to fruition!
