Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for a new cue word at CASology. This week, our cue word is NAUTICAL. I decided to play with an anchor image from an older Waltzingmouse set called Ocean Bound.
I stamped three groupings of the same anchor in three different colors, and then added some texture to my card front with the Sunshine Impression Plate from PTI. There were some pretty good punny sentiments in this set, but I went with something more all purpose. I am trying harder to make cards that I might actually send, and I could see sending this to a friend or family member about to set sail on a cruise.
So, how about you? How are you inspired by NAUTICAL? I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.
Yes, you are so right! I need to start making cards with sentiments that I can actually send out also!!! That sunshine plate is so versatile, and looks like water swirls in this card! Those grouped anchors make quite an impact! Fab card!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card. That impression plate adds so much and is perfect with the overall feel to the card.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Hazel - you background embossing reminds me of ripples in the water! Lovely card Joyce and it would be perfect for someone going on a cruise or sailing holiday.

Really such a lovely card. Beautiful color choices on the anchors, and the embossing is reminiscent of ripples in a pond. It'd make a cool 'off to college' card too. And I love the little wood veneer stars; perfectly nautical. Bev

I love this card Joyce. Love the swirly background and the colors of the anchors look wonderful together. Love that you stamped them n threes.
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce, I love your color choices - very masculine. The embossing plate is unique and I like it. I always try to envision giving my cards to my charities or friends and as such sometimes a cue word just does not fit, i.e. baby. I am way beyond that but some of my card making ladies are new grandmas. Happy 4th, Barb
ReplyDeleteJoyce, your colors are perfect together and for this challenge. I think this is one of my favorite cards...love the dry embossed circles and the repeated stamping, so appealing and effective! LOVE this card!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Joyce!! You did an amazing job. You have convinced me to get that impression plate. It arrived and now I can't wait to use it. It looks so pretty! Beautiful and the colors are awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, baby!!! That background is so stellar and you have made a wonderfully nautical card!! I am just so impressed with the colors and the fascinating details you added to this!! FUN!!
