Time Out Guest Designer--Challenge Reminder





Hello--I'm back with a reminder post--phase II of my Guest Designer gig at Time Out Challenges. The challenge is open, and there is still time to play along.  Our inspiration this week is 'Home Sweet Home' and we have this bright and beautiful inspiration photo to work with.


My first card focused on the background wallpaper.  This time, I am using a more Clean and Simple style and am really emphasizing the stripes and colors from the bed.

I loved the retro/mod look of the inspiration room, and thought that my flower and the font of my sentiment really tie in with that look.  They say that lines like curves, so I paired an impression plate with lots of curves with my striped side panel.  I made that side panel by repeatedly stamping a lined stamp from PTI Ombre Builder, moving down the page, changing colors and slightly overlapping my stamping.


I hope you will play along with this challenge.  You have until May 13th 5:00PM BST--which is 9AM May 13th in California.  Plenty of time to get inky.

    Gosh I do like the mix of lines and circles and that is some superb stamping-I thought the lines were DSP, love how you have overlapped them. Great take on the photo and we have really enjoyed having you as our GD x

    I'm smiling, Joyce ... great Friendly Flowers minds think alike!! They're fabulous ... as is that amazing stamped striped border! Your embossed circles and lines more than like each other ... they're a perfect couple! So happy to have had you guest designing with us at Time Out! Anita :)

    Fabulous card, Joyce! I thought you had used patterned paper - the stripes look perfect and I love that flower with the retro embossed background. Everything works perfectly together!

    I so wanted to do a stripe like that, Joyce, but couldn't figure out quite how to do it. Yours are perfect. I don't have that stamp but still have a few days to figure out something.
