I have just one card to share today. I used the colors from this week's ColourQ and was heavily influenced by Kim's inspiration card this week. I had seen several folks use Birthday Wishes recently--Marybeth, and Rhonda, so I decided to use those candles for my card. After stamping and embossing my card front, I cut a space for part of the sentiment.
Here is a close up of the embossing on the card front. I am entering this card at CAS on Sunday #55: Numbers as well as Addicted to Stamps #139: CAS.
I have been busy organizing some of my inks. I bought these CD racks from Target that I saw people use as hanging ink pad holders, and decided to combine and organize my inks from Hero Arts, WPlus9, Simon Says Stamp and Heidi Swapp.
And, I created a ring of swatches, so I can see all of the colors together.
I hope that this will make it easier for me to see what ink colors I have and encourage me to reach for them more often. Plus, I love how the swatches look--so pretty.
Thanks for Visiting

ReplyDeleteJoyce I love your card, those candles are so much fun and the split panel too! The CD racks made for great ink storage, you always get right to organizing, you need to come here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card! Who makes the candle stamp??????
ReplyDeleteI have this stamp set and was ready to get it out when I saw Marybeth's card but now you've added even more inspiration. I love how you split it to added the candle sentiment. I never thought of CD storage for ink pads. I store my stamps in DVD racks, but unfortunately they've been discontinued by IKEA, just when I need a couple more. :(.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant split panel candles, Joyce ... fabulous with all that yummy background texture! Love those colour swatches ... each would make such a brilliant ombré card with a big sentiment across it ... can I steal ... oops, I mean borrow that idea?! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteSweet card, Joyce. Love the gently embossed numbers, and those candles! They look like you've heat embossed them. Gorgeous colors; so rich and fun. Sweet split panel and something I think I might try later today! Wonderful card. Just love it. Bev
ReplyDeleteFabulous design using the candles! Love the split panels with the sentiment you chose. And the background embossing folder is the icing on the cake!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative Joyce! I love the embossed numbers and the split candles are a great idea. Fabulous birthday card! It feels good to get organised doesn't it? I need to make swatches too because I tend to reach for the same few inks all the time.

Really fun B-Day card, Joyce! I love how you created the split panel and the embossed numbers are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat storage idea and I LOVE your swatches! Thanks for sharing the photo with us!
Your colour swatches are awesome! I like that you have a colour family on each card instead of one colour per card - makes comparison easier. I really should do this too. And your card rocks! I love those candles and they may make it onto my wish list is PTI sorts themselves out. I'm still waiting for an order I placed on April 11th! And the distance is no excuse - I ordered stuff from 4 other companies the same day and all those arrived within 2 weeks. So annoying!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing how you organized your inks and that you made color swatches for them!! So cool and way organized of you!! I am impressed with this card - love how the question is in the split between the candles!! What a genius idea!!! Hope your week has started out nicely!!
ReplyDeleteWow! That embossed background was a surprise but it really gives an already wonderful card some extra zing. It is so crisp and happy. Good job with the organizing! It makes such a difference when things are 'just right.' Of course, they never stay that way for long.... but it's good for awhile!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun design! I like the embossing too :)
