Birthday and Holiday Cards

Yesterday, I spent 50 minutes in exercise class admiring the top that the instructor was wearing.  I was too embarrassed to ask if I could take a photo of her top, but when I got home, I created a water color panel inspired by that top.  I turned that panel into a card, using stamps from Hero Arts and Neat & Tangled.  I am entering this card at Seize the Birthday, and will give this card to my friend from that exercise class, as it is her birthday tomorrow.  I wonder if she will recognize our instructor's shirt?

My holiday card for today uses the colors from this week's Colour Me Striking--Navy and Silver.  I used a piece of silver foil paper from Add a Little Dazzle cut with the Mod Snowflake Background from Poppystamps and layered on top of a piece of Enchanted Evening paper.  I embossed my sentiment in white on Enchanted Evening, and popped it up with foam tape.  I am entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Bling it on and Poppystamps Challenge #3:  Sparkle and Shine.

The photo is not quite capturing how shiny that foil paper is, but trust me that it could light up a room.

Thanks for Visiting

  1. WOW Joyce, both your cards are so amazing. I love the first one and I can see why you were inspired by the top. Just a fabulous card. And the die on the second one? So gorgeous. Is that a Poppystamps or Memory box one? It seems like I might have seen that before.

  2. I'm chuckling at the thought of you contemplating taking a photo of your instructor's top. I had a similar situation today...saw a tissue box in the salon that was so cute in color and design that I wanted to take a picture of it but decided against it because that would have been too weird!! Love both your gorgeous cards. Your silver and blue card is so striking and elegant. If that were in a store, you could charge $10 for it! Thanks for playing along at Colour Me....!

  3. That's funny that you should say that about the shirt, Joyce. I have sat in church several times and wondered if I could make a card like the shirt person in front of me is wearing. Yours turned out beautifully, BTW. And that silver and navy card. WOW!!!
