CASology Week 102: Float





Happy Tuesday.  It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week our cue word is FLOAT.  Fun word, right?  My first thought was root beer float, but I do not have a stamp for that.  Darn.  Now I want to eat/drink a root beer float.  Anyway, moving right along...my second thought was to pull out one of my nautical stamp sets and look for a life preserver--something that floats and would help you to float, too.



It should be pretty obvious why this card is CAS--but just to review:

1.  One main image
2.  Lots of open space (uncluttered)
3.  Limited layers & embellishments
4.  Quick & easy to recreate
 
You can see that my card meets all 4 criteria above.  I have to tell you that those sequins you see are actually die cut sequins out of card stock and then coated with Glossy Accents.

    I think you did a super fabulous job with the word float - and I like those die cut sequins - perfect idea for when you want just the right color!! Great Job - I think I will be linking up!!

    Joyce, I also thought of a root beer float, and then my daughter suggested a person in a float (like a tube)...unfortunately I don't have either stamp, so like you, I went with another idea. I LOVE your nautical card, such a great pop of color on the side and perfectly placed gems. Awesome card!

    Yes! Root Beer Float...how could I make one of those with the stamps I have on hand? I will have to look and see, but I love your take on the cue word too Joyce! The nautical patterned paper along the edge ties in the life preserver image...cute!

    I think ice cream float and I don't even like ice cream, so I like your version so much better. You rocked the CAS look and it was nice to get a quickie reminder what CAS is. I love the nautical vibe from the patterned strip down the side.

    Love it Joyce...fabulous nautical card and I never thought of this when I saw the cue card float. Like Judy I thought ice cream float instead, now to figure out how to turn that into a card...your card is so perfect!

    I love that you have a stamp for almost every word cue, except for the root beer float, of course. Does anyone make one like that? The lifesaver works, though, and so CAS.

    Awesome card - love that strip paper border, the colors remind me of the nautical flags, so it fits perfect to my eyes!
