It should be pretty obvious why this card is CAS--but just to review:
1. One main image
2. Lots of open space (uncluttered)
3. Limited layers & embellishments
4. Quick & easy to recreate

You can see that my card meets all 4 criteria above. I have to tell you that those sequins you see are actually die cut sequins out of card stock and then coated with Glossy Accents.
Now, it is your turn. What do you think of when you see the word FLOAT? Have some fun with the cue word FLOAT, and then please link up your creation on the CASology blog by Monday 7/7 at noon (CST).
Check out the beautiful designs from the CASology Design Team members and see how they were inspired by FLOAT.
Don't forget to keep your card Clean and Simple.

This image is perfect along with that nautical-feeling dp!
ReplyDeleteI love the linen impression plate. Fabulous card Joyce.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a super fabulous job with the word float - and I like those die cut sequins - perfect idea for when you want just the right color!! Great Job - I think I will be linking up!!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, I also thought of a root beer float, and then my daughter suggested a person in a float (like a tube)...unfortunately I don't have either stamp, so like you, I went with another idea. I LOVE your nautical card, such a great pop of color on the side and perfectly placed gems. Awesome card!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce, me again...I just left you a comment but don't know where it went! (Grrr...Blogger!) I meant to also say that I love the sequins you converted...very cool effect!
ReplyDeleteYes! Root Beer Float...how could I make one of those with the stamps I have on hand? I will have to look and see, but I love your take on the cue word too Joyce! The nautical patterned paper along the edge ties in the life preserver image...cute!
ReplyDeleteLove this--great way to illustrate the cue word! But root beer float would have been pretty cool too!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty summer card. Those faux sequins are pretty. Love the pattern paper you chose.
ReplyDeleteI think ice cream float and I don't even like ice cream, so I like your version so much better. You rocked the CAS look and it was nice to get a quickie reminder what CAS is. I love the nautical vibe from the patterned strip down the side.
ReplyDeleteLove the clean look of this nautical card! But mmm, root beer float... ;)
ReplyDeleteLove it Joyce...fabulous nautical card and I never thought of this when I saw the cue card float. Like Judy I thought ice cream float instead, now to figure out how to turn that into a card...your card is so perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the nautical feel of ur card, perfectly CAS and that colorful panel adds just the right touch of colors :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Joyce ... so crisp and clean and deliciously nautical! Ice cream floats ... mmmm ... yummy! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteJoyce such a great card. Yes, we do think a like. A root beer float, lol. I love the life raft. I do not have any nautical stamps, should invest. Amazing card.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea for the cue word. I love the panel down the side and all that white space! Thanks so much for having me as a Guest Designer this week xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE the colors, so FUN, it is just playful!!!! Thanks for your comments and kind words Joyce, they always mean alot!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a stamp for almost every word cue, except for the root beer float, of course. Does anyone make one like that? The lifesaver works, though, and so CAS.
ReplyDeleteI am so not a good friend :( I really thought I had commented on this fantastic card Joyce! Using the life float is perfect and I love your colours!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card - love that strip paper border, the colors remind me of the nautical flags, so it fits perfect to my eyes!
