PTI February 2014 Blog Hop







The challenge for this month's PTI blog hop is to create a project with a spring theme.  That was pretty easy for me, as we seem to have skipped winter here in Southern California, and have had spring-like weather for weeks.  That is not all good, as we are now dealing with a very severe drought.





I had time to make two projects.  I used the sketch at this week's Retro Sketches rs #103 for my first card.  The sketch is for a tag, which I attached to a card.  I had to use my new Doodlie Do stamps, which I colored with Copics.



My second card uses Sweet Spring, the picket fence die from Little Bitty Bird Additions, and lots and lots of fussy cutting.  I had this idea in my head for this card--with flowers behind and in front of the fence, and didn't really think through how much cutting would be involved.  Anyway, I am pleased with my little spring scene, and would love to have a little flower garden like this in my yard.



I am looking forward to hopping around to see what spring looks like around the blogosphere.


Edited to add that I am linking up both of these cards at The Card Concept #4 to use a floral theme, and I am classifying them as both Clean and Layered.

    Oh my goodness Joyce these have me LONGING for warm sunny days and blooming flowers!! Your tag is as sweet as can be and I love all of the flowers tucked among the fence slats!

    Great cards, Joyce! I like the colors and the layering of flowers. The fussy cutting really adds a great touch. Perfect cards for spring!

    Wow! I love your card both, but the tag card is my favorite! Such a clean and beautiful images with perfect coloring! (Yeah! We are expecting some rain this week in SoCal. Exciting!!!)

    We sure did skip winter!
    Oh darn I had that flower set in my cart and told myself I didn't need any more flowers…. you are making wish I kept them in my cart with this beautiful card. Love the way you used the older set and layered those flower all around the fence and then you used gingham… love these Joyce!

    LOVE your creations Joyce. The colors are so bright and cheerful. LOL, same thought with the fence....great minds think alike. How did you do that with the grounding circle on the bottom? Looks really cool!

    Not sure why but I seldom think to use tags on my cards. Love your results! Your fence surrounded by little posies is adorable and definitely spells Spring.

    Oh you got the doodle stamps! I LOVE those, especially the sentiments with the box around them. Maybe I'll have to draw my own boxes for now : ) Love the strong colors in your fence card ... they still say "Spring" without being pastels. Gorgeous scene you created, Joyce!

    Another fabulous floral creation (I hope you were able to see my comment on your first card...which took me directly to Flickr for my comment). Just in case the comment is MIA - awesome card!!!

    And speaking of an awesome card .... that's exactly what your 'tag card' is! Such a cool idea to hang the elements off the edge. Nice touch with the sentiment placement too! Thanks for sharing these two woderful creations with us at the Card Concept Challenge :)
