Thanksgiving-akuh, Really?

Well, it won't happen this way for another 70 thousand years I am told, but here we are in 2013, and Chanukah started before Thanksgiving.  Who is ready for Chanukah in November?  The whole point of Chanukah (or Hanukah, or Hanukkah) is to give Jewish people something to do in December, right?

I tried to ignore the whole thing, but my daughters returned from our Thanksgiving trip back east with a bunch of Chanukah gifts from family members.  So, in the midst of sorting out all the laundry and mail, I whipped up a few thank you note cards that they could use to write their thank you notes.

My oldest was kind enough to break out our Copics to color and shade these cute Simon Says Stamp dogs.

And I used the new (and awesome) Serendipity Owl die on these thank you cards.

I will be entering both of these card sets into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.  I am also entering the dog set into this week's Addicted to CAS challenge #27, where the code word is PET.  I do have a young lady in my house who would love to have a pet owl....but she will have to make do with our new pet dog.

I really love making these little flat note cards.  They are always pretty quick to pull together, and my daughters appreciate that there is just enough room to write the essentials of a proper thank you note (but not too much room).  Some day, I will be clever enough to make a bunch to have on hand.

I have been slowly getting back into the grove of things after our Thanksgiving trip.  I know I am horribly behind on visiting blogs and leaving comments, and I apologize for that.  I am hoping to get caught up by the end of the week.  Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for Visiting

  4. Happy Hanukkah, Joyce! These are great note cards for the girls to write their thank yous. It's so true that it is hard when there is too much room ~ "what am I supposed to SAY?" LOL! I'm glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and made it back safely. Hugs, Darnell

Plus it gives up a good reason to buy more supplies right? Both of your thank you cards are fabulous, those owls are breath taking, simply stunning. Love your sweet little dog too, so fun. 12. These are brilliant, Joyce ... the owl is particularly eye-catching! Whilst we have a couple of owls in residence in a barn, they do their own thing so I can't say they're pets ... far too independent for that! Great to see you back! Anita :)
