I was in and out of my craft room this weekend, and had lots of time to play. Now, it is Sunday night, and I have 7 cards to post and a giant mess to clean up. All the cards I am showing today will be entered in this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.
My first card is for this month's Hero Arts challenge. I made a 'hello' card. I am pretty sure I saw something like this done on Susan's Simplicity blog, but can't find the actual card. I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp and Show to use the stamp you love but don't use. This challenge has really encouraged me to pull out some oldies but goodies--in this case it is the Hero Arts Dictionary Greeting set.
My next card is for this week's Retro Sketch rs#53 and A Blog Named Hero Challenge #21: Just Make Your Own. In this case, I used my very oldest Hero Arts cupcake stamp to make my own embellishment. I stamped the cupcake trio, cut it out, colored/painted it with Inktense pencils, and then coated it with several layers of UTEE. I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge to use the stamp you love but don't use. I haven't used those cupcakes in forever, and they were some of the very first stamps I ever bought.
This next card is my attempt at this week's Tuesday Trigger: Pattern Play. After playing around with lots of different stamps in an unsuccessful attempt to replicate the picture exactly, I decided to take another approach. I was inspired by the color scheme and the pattern of flowers. I had been wanting to try ghost stamping, ever since seeing this video last week, so I used that technique in my card. The layout for this card is from this card I saw during the last PTI release. I used white Ranger Enamel Accents on the flower centers.
I pulled out Watercolor Wonder for my last card of the weekend. I wish I had more time to play, but this will have to do for today. I can tell I am going to have a lot of fun with this set.
Well, now I need to clean up my mess.
