I have a card for this week's Retro Sketches rs#54, using the colors from this week's Dynamic Duos DD#43. And, of course, its got green, so I will submit to this week's Simon Says Stamp Bit O Green challenge.
I am really loving my Irresistibly Ikat stamps. I used the Aida impression plate on my stamped panel for this card, and love the look of those two together.
This week's Make it Monday #107 has Nicole showing us how to work with clear card stock, as well as tips for copic coloring. My card with clear card stock proved to be difficult to photograph, so please ignore the reflection of the camera. I chose to go with a stamped panel on the left side of the card, and stamped my sentiment on the inside. It is based on something I saw a long time ago on Damask Love, and I don't have the actual post saved. I pulled out Asian Gardens for this card. I use the sentiments in that set all the time, but I rarely pull it out for the images. I embossed the vase in black, cut it out, and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. I used White Ranger Enamel Accents for the flower centers.
Here is a view of the inside.
After I made this card, I realized that any message I wrote would need to be on the back...
I wanted to try out some Copic coloring, while the video was fresh in my mind, so I made one more card.

ReplyDeleteAll three are fantastic. This is the first card I have seen with the Aida IP that I love and your ikat is very cool. Amazing job on your clear card, I like the stamps you used a lot and finally beautiful beautiful colouring. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou are just a busy bee...lets trade places for a week and I can make cards and you can teach preschoolers??? These are fabulous and I love your coloring, it looks like a professional did the coloring. And your Ikat card is beautiful too, you have me almost wanting that set too. You have such an incredible gift!
ReplyDeleteTerrific trio Joyce! LOVE the Aida + Ikat — this wasn't a stamp set I was drawn to, but I am really loving all the cards you have made with it. The layers are fun on the clear cardstock card and the last one has terrific color - I'm going to have to check out the jelly dots you have scattered perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSmart idea to color something else while it is fresh in your mind. Wow your cards are gorgeous. I love the way you did your clear card even if you have to write on the back . You were very creative! Love the way you blended the colors on your flower just like a pro. Beautiful Ikat card too, glad you are having fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're use of texture is the perfect balance to your stamp! Thanks for joining us at Dynamic Duos! ♥
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards. Love the texture on your ikat card. Looks like you used the linen IP plate too. The clear cards are fantastic. I need to watch the video. Your coloring of the flower is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteLove all three of your fantastic cards! I love the Aida ip used with the Ikat set! And your clear card is lovely! I adore flowers and love the coloring you did , so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the linen texture on your ikat pattern, looks like a fabric! And your clear card is so fun having a side panel (that you stamped on the inside). I laughed when I read that you whipped out one more card for the copic coloring ... that is so YOU, Joyce!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture from that impression plate and how it looks with your stamped Ikat. It's a match made in heaven.
ReplyDeleteYour clear card is so pretty and great coloring on the last card. I think I should watch that MIM video.

ReplyDeletelove the texture on the first card and the coloring on the last is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteYou are trying so many new things lately - the transparency is brilliant, and the crisp embossing on the linen on the first is yummy with the greens and copic coloring too? Fabulous Joyce!
ReplyDeleteLove the effect of the Aida impression plate with the ikat! Super cool texture. The canvas impression plate looks more like concrete to me and the difference between to the two textures is cool. Also, awesome job of lining up the flower border die on your clear card-nice touch!
ReplyDeleteFab cards! Love the mix of textures and patterns on your Ikat one! Thanks for playing along with Dynamic Duos this week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Joyce. Love the Ikat and those clear cards are so clever!
