The 12 Kits of Holidays: January, 2013

New year--new plan.  Welcome to the first month of our second year as a "12 Kits" group.  We are welcoming two new members this month--both very sweet gals and talented card makers, too.  Tracey from In My Creative Opinion and Kelly from Gingham Girl are joining us starting this month.  You may have noticed our new logo--we are no longer just doing Christmas cards.  Stay tuned as we work through the months of the year and create for lots of different occasions and holidays.

Our theme for January is Valentines and other love-related occasions.  I am the hostess this month, and that means that I assembled and sent out the kits to all the members of the group.  I pulled out all my valentines stuff and assembled a kit with a little bit of lots of different things.  I am embarrassed to admit that there were things I pulled out that I bought quite a long time ago that I had never even used before.  Here is a picture of the kit.

I made 8 cards, and still have lots left over from my kit.  Plus, I have all the stamps and dies, so I am planning on doing a lot of casing.  I have found that the kits are getting larger as time goes by, and I guess I am trying to help that along.

Here is a list of what was in the kit:

Paper Smooches:  Good Gab

Stampin Up:  XOXO, Valentine Defined

WPlus9:  Love You More, A Pocketful Valentine

PTI:  Love & Marriage, Think Big Favorites, Just the Ticket, Heart Prints

Dies:

PTI:  Perfect Patches, Mat Stack #3, Just the Ticket, Heart Border, Heart Prints, XOXO Border

Memory Box:   Piestra Tile

  2. Joyce, this was a fabulous kit...the pattered paper, adorable ribbon and all the wonderful little doo dads you included created so many incredible cards. You are just so clever with your first card using those sweet little envelopes as a boarder and my favorite of the bunch, well I have two, the fourth card and last. Joyce, thank you again for an amazing kit and starting the year of with so many wonderful goodies in our kits.

  3. Thanks Joyce for putting together this amazing kit full of color and beautiful things! I love seeing the kit through your eyes - and I can't tell you how many things I MUST HAVE now! I love the clever border of envelopes in the zig zag pattern! Why didn't I think of that? I know why but lets not talk about that! So many things I like here - the polka dot ribbon with the stripes, the stripes of heart borders and the last one with the layered hearts. I think you are going to turn me all C&S - gorgeous cards!!

  5. I love the way you have updated the challenge - what an amazing kit you put together! My favorites are 2 & 5 - I love that red chevron ribbon paired witht the aqua and the way you nestled the heart borders instead of lining them up on top of each other. Beautiful cards!

  8. Wow, did you come up with a fabulous kit...I love what everyone has done with it! Yours are especially good this month, I am absolutely loving that piestra tile die with the red behind it. One of my favorites is the Love, today, tomorrow, forever card, such a great CAS card that really pops. You also really grabbed me with the tag and the twine looped over the back of the card. What a neat way to hang your card onto your cardbase. Great job Joyce, you rocked Valentines Day!

  10. Joyce I love all of your cards, one after another are just gorgeous!. The way you stacked those tiny envelopes across the patterned paper is brilliant, the twine tied around the ribbon, the fussy cutting on the second last and wow were we on the same page with the last card?

  11. Wow, Joyce--I love seeing what you created with your fabulous kit! Thanks so much for putting all these wonderful supplies together for us. After seeing the Piestra Tile die, I think I'm going to have to order one. One of the great things about the Kits is getting to play with new toys! I love your envelope border. What a cool look! And I'm in awe of all your CAS designs. Can't wait to CASE some of these!

  12. Sorry Im late! Joyce all of these cards are so CAS and elegant! I am not surprised you made 8 cards because I could have kept on going myself. Glad I have lots left. I think your last one is my favorite, I bought that die because of you and I am so glad I have it with all these new ideas. Love the one with the bicycle paper too. Thanks again for a great kit. It's going to be hard to measure up or make a kit that will be as fun and easy as this one.

  13. Joyce, this seriously was a FABULOUS kit! After seeing today's posts, I've sat down and done some serious CASEing! Like I said in my post, these papers just led themselves! Not much else was needed.....love the chevrons, the bicycles, the polka dots. Your cards are fantastic and I see that we have a similar card...hehe. Great minds! :) I think my favorite is the Piestra Die card......I have that die and um....have never used it! Thank you again Joyce!

  16. Joyce, I looooved your kit so much! So glad I have some left because you made fantastic designs that I can CASE now, yippee! The one with the patterned hearts and the chevron paper is so striking. And the blue TREE with the sparkly heart (so in love with that image and must get that set...you have inspired me to try trees in BLUE)! My piestra tile die cut is sitting here waiting. It was too pretty to touch ;) Love your card with the red showing through. So thank you, thank you for the wonderful treats this month. What a fun group this is, so excited to be a part of it!!

  17. Eight cards!! Joyce, you've totally inspired me to use up more of my supplies, if only I can find the time. :) These are all so wonderfully clean in design but full of fabulous color and detail. I think my favorites are the last two in simple red and white. Thank you so much for a fantastic start to the 12 Kits this year!
