This week's Make it Monday #93: Splitting Die Cuts shows us how to stretch our dies further by splitting up the die cuts. Such a great idea, and I wonder why I never thought of it before. I used the Harlequin Cover Plate and a sentiment from Think Big Favorites to make a get well card for a friend. I added just the narrowest strip of Pure Poppy on either side of the cut pieces of the Harlequin die cut--things looked a little unfinished without that strip.
Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps: Think Big Favorites, Happy Harlequin
Paper: Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy
Ink: Pure Poppy
Other: Harlequin Cover Plate
Thanks for Visiting

ReplyDeleteWonderfull!
ReplyDeleteLove this - love the chevron stamp and the pattern you created by selectively stamping the openings! I was trying to figure out how you ended up with two "closed" side - the red paper strips are perfect.
ReplyDeleteWoah, Joyce, brav-o! Did not think of splitting the full dies like this. Such a great effect, and love that you kept it simple with one color!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I hadn't thought of splitting a cover plate but it looks so cool and I love the chevron paper you used to create the pattern inside it.
