Earlier this month, when I saw My Island and North Shore, I felt like someone had come to my town, sat down and sketched these images. The palm trees, lifeguard hut, raffia umbrellas, sufer dude--that is my town, and I knew I needed to get those stamp sets out of Ireland and back to Southern California where they belonged.
The theme of this month's Blog Party is The Great Outdoors, and what better set to showcase my outdoor world than the images in My Island.
My stamps made it to me in record time (of course), and I chose to use this week's WMSC106 challenge for my card.
An update (happy ending) on the stamp that went missing during the creation of last month's blog party card. Thank you all for the many helpful suggestions on where that stamp could be hiding. I tried all of them. I did find that naughty stamp stuck to the back of a sheet of card stock, that had I had put in a folder and filed away. So, for those of you who never believe in tidying up--YOU ARE RIGHT!

Joyce, I love you card and I loved reading your post! I knew this set was all you girl! Love the palm trees and that sandy beach background! This set is definately where it belongs!! Thanks for giving me a little escape of my own on a hot midwest day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you live near these views Joyce! love how you used the sketch with the plain panels and your pretty stampings! I'm near the North East Coast ocean - so no palm trees or huts for us - have to travel down to the Carolina's or FL for those!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found your stamp too! how lucky that it stayed stuck until you pulled out that paper again!!
I'm so happy you found your stamp...and what a refreshing scene...I could really use some beach time! So glad you could join us today.

ReplyDeleteLove your CAS design and wonderfully cool & relaxing scene! Would love to be there now! And isn't it fun to have the perfect stamps. I laughed at your comment on my blog about the mini skirt. I had almost written a comment about her being in rather inappropriate attire! It's more like jeans and sturdy shoes!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you found your stamp. Last year I lost a swirl from the Compliments of the Season set and it almost ruined my Christmas had I not found it in time, stuck under the lid of a plastic box. Your card is beautiful. The focal image is just perfect!

ReplyDeletelovely use of the sketch and theme for the hop!! Oh, I have lost many a clear stamp and know that feeling of "where is it." I back track to the things I was using and usually find it, however I have lost one sentiment and one got into my Cuttlebug last year and came out a rolled up ball of plastic :( Those naughty stamps! LOL
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Joyce! I love that these sets reflect the outdoors for you! I am heading your way next month for a visit with one of my college friends. I've never been to CA so I am really excited!
