I think that this must be my week of color challenges. I had some time to craft, and the colors of my favorite color challenges were especially appealing.
I really loved this week's ColourQ colors, and decided to make another card using them. I really loved the layout of this card by one of the ColourQ designers, and used that as the starting point of my card. I used Distressed stripes in Amuse Slate, Versacolor Turquoise, and PTI Simply Chartreuse and Winter Wisteria ink. It's a bit hard to tell, but I impressed both of my front panels with the Canvas/Linen Impression Plate.

My next card is for this week's Play Date Cafe PDCC132, black, white and a splash of mustard yellow. I used PTI Summer Sunrise for my yellow. It's a bit hard to see in this photo, but the white panel is raised with dimensionals. I colored bits of the image with Copic YR15.

You're on a roll with the color challenges! That first card is really great, I love that strip for the colors, and they look like a Mexican blanket to me! The second card is really pretty, love that houndstooth on the side :)

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are just to adorable, love the colors too but the graduation card is so stunning with the inset of your stripes, just so clever!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing wonders with this weeks colours, aren't they just awesome? Love these fantastic cards, the distressed stripes on your first card are so fun. Great designs.
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful cards Joyce! I adore all the colorful stripes on the congrats card. So eye-catching! The highlighting on the flowers of the second card is a great touch. The perfect way to add a splash of color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Joyce! So glad you joined us this week at the ColourQ!!
ReplyDeleteYour cards have such different looks, but create clean and simple designs. The first one looks super with all of the stripes and the second one is so effective with the black and white and a touch of colour. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteNow I know why you were looking for that houndstooth! These are really great cards, love the first one and the distressed stripes. They really look great in the challenge colors. I especially like the second one with the stitches and the way you outlined some of them with the copic. That totally made the card for me!
ReplyDeleteJoyce - Two great cards. I love the clean graphic look of the first one - the stripes of color really pop - and they remind me of the ocean (perfect for cards by the sea!!) and the second one is stunning with the yellow houndstooth and the pop of yellow on the flowers. Perfect for the inspiration photo!
