Papertrey April 2012 Blog Hop


The 25th just kind of crept up on me this month, but I managed to created a card for this month's Papertrey Ink blog hop just in time.  I guess that is what happens when you are gone for half the month.  Since time was short, I went with the first idea that popped into my head when I saw this beautiful inspiration photo. 


When I looked at the photo, I saw pieces of folded patterned fabric in Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz.  I immediately thought of Bitty Background Blocks, and so created a very simple Mother's Day card. 



Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Bitty Background Blocks, Fillable Frames, WM Musical Backgrounds
Paper:  White, Raspberry Fizz pattern, Aqua Mist pattern
Other:  Dies:  Button, Fillable Frame, Double Ended Banner, MFT Rolled Roses, PTI Felt

  
On another topic....

Lucky me--I was able to meet one of my sweet blogging friends on my trip to San Jose last weekend to visit my mom in the hospital.  Kim of Cupcakes, Cards & Kim was sweet enough to drive across the bay to meet me, and we had dinner together and would have talked all night if we hadn't realized that it was 10:00, and time to get home.  I feel so fortunate that I have now met 3 of my online friends in person, and am happy to report that they are all as wonderful in person as they are online.

    love that your eye was drawn to the hot pink - that color combo is fantastic! (my eye ignored the hot pink and kept it light... lol)

    I love all the stamping on this one Joyce, those pinked squares really remind me of the inspiration pic. You made some cute felt flowers too! They look so pretty all lined up. I am so JEALOUS! You got to meet Kim, you both look so happy and I bet you laughed for hours. I can't wait for Stampafaire so we can all get together...finally. Great job on the blog hop card today, I loved it and plan to pin it too!

    Hi Joyce! I just love this. The pink and aqua are so perfect together, and all of the textures in the patterned paper add so much interest. Love those felt flowers and the banner that extends over the edges. Fabulous! So happy for you that you got to meet up with your blogging friend. What a treat!

    Joyce...your card is so sweet and reminds me of walking down the aisles at the fabric store. Your pinked squares and felt roses, just so beautiful! I had so much fun meeting you too and felt that we could have chatted for many more hours, now I am really looking forward to July and SAF!

    What a beautiful card, Joyce! I think you really caaptured the inspiration pic, quite wonderfully! I think if I'd had that bitty blocks set, I would've used it, as it went through my head, when brainstorming on the card for today! They remind me of fabric swatches! I love those sweet felty roses! Beautiful pic of you and Kim! She was so sweet and lent me For The Graduate...which I need to finish up using and get back to her! Have a great day!!!
