This is my second attempt this week at making a shaker card, using the process explained in this week's MIM #50. We won't talk about the poor soccer/owl shaker card that didn't shake....I tried a different adhesive approach this time (Thermoweb Sticky Dots), and had a better result.
It is a little hard to see in this photo, but I created a background paper using a faint stamping of Background Basics Newsprint using Amuse Pebble ink, and then a brighter pattern over that using Butterfly Kisses. I got this idea this morning from this card by my friend Gayatri.
On to another subject....THE GIVEAWAY.....
I am fortunate to have received an extra 'thank you' set from PTI, and I would like to give it to one of my blogging friends who has not yet received this set yet. I will ship anywhere, so if you live overseas, don't be shy to let me know that you would like this set. In your comment, please let me know if you are in need of this stamp set, and I will pick a lucky winner and announce it in the next few days.
Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps: Butterfly Kisses, Background Basics Text Style, Background Basics Newsprint
Paper: White, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores
Other: Butterfly, Mat Stack #1, Mat Stack #1 Layerz dies

I love the shaker card - I have only ever made one, and it wasn't a success!! Most of the shakey bits ended up lodged between the acetate and bottom cardstock, because i hadn't sealed it close enough! Didn't even think about it at the time, and I haven't attempted one since! But I love the look of this, so could be tempted...!
ReplyDeleteI have never even seen this PTI set, and don't own any PTI so yes I'd love to be be included in the draw :) very kind of you to give it away! M x
Good job you perservered. Love that you matched the shaker beads with the inks. Please count me in for the giveaway- all PTI goodies are treasured!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, I love that your shaker card is a butterfly! And the colors that you chose are fabulous, too :) Thanks for the offer of the set, but I already received one, too!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shaker card and I really love the background you created with the Butterfly Kisses stamps!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteI so love your blog and your beautiful cards. I would love to receive this stamp set!!!! OMG thank you for the opportunity ... I have been covetting this set ever since it first came out, and then I realised that it was a gift with purchase to say thank you from the PTI team. Sadly here in Australia it's very costly to purchase PTI stamps, the shipping costs are crazy as PTI only ships with insurance cover and it's very pricey. I only order once a year for this reason.
So thank you so much for the opportunity to receive this stamp set, I hope that the odds fall in my favour, as there are so many of your readers that too would very much love this stamp set.
Have a great week
Hugs
Angie :)
By the using of the small pearls give a new and pretty look , i like it and suggest you that you can also use the glitter ribbon in here....
