The 12 Kits of Christmas: January 2012

I was so thrilled and flattered when my friend, Renee, invited me to be part of a new paper crafting group she was starting.  The group is called "The 12 Kits of Christmas", and is kind of a spin-off of our Four-of-A-Kind group.  The idea is that each month, one of the 12 of us send holiday card making kits to everyone in the group.  We post simultaneously at the end of each month.  At the end of the year, not only will we have had lots of crafty fun, but we should have a huge jump start on our Christmas card stash.

Renee started us off with this load of crafty loot:

I did not come anywhere near using up all the contents of the kit when I made these three cards:

Do you like candy?  Blog candy, that is?  Renee has some goodies she is giving away on her blog.  All you need to do is to visit all 12 of us and leave a comment on each blog by Friday.

Here is a list of the other members of The 12 Kits of Christmas:

Cathy of Empty Nest Crafter
Suzanne of The Card Yard
Joyce of Cards-by-the-Sea (that's me!)
Kara of KandR Designs
Jessica of The Paper Parade
Jeanne of A Kept Life
Sharron of On Papillon Wings

Can you believe this line up of talent?  I am still pinching myself that I have been included in this group.

 Thanks for Visiting

  1. Wow, all these card are so pretty. I think my favorite is the first one because I love those snowy banks embossed with the sunshine impression plate. Also, the Christmas card trio in the three different colors is so creative. Great job on our first 12 Kit challenge Joyce.

  2. Joyce Wow! All three are gorgeous , the three trees in the night , love it. The first one is adorable with the embossed snow, and that cute sled . I will not chose because I love them all and I am super fond of the last one the way you have the sled passing by the tree. Beautiful!

  4. Joyce, Wow!! I love that you embossed the snow on the first one, what a fabulous idea! We must have the same taste, because I used that same paper and one of the silhouette images and the snow on my first card, too, lol. I love that the second one incorporates 3 of the trees on a night snowy background, and the third looks great with the tree up in the front like that!

  6. Fantastic cards, Joyce! I love the impression plate you used on the snow banks and the way the silhouette pops against the snowflake paper. And how clever to line up the trees on a dark background--love it! Thanks for inspiring some more ways to use what's left in my kit!

  21. Hi Joyce! I think this kit idea was just fabulous, don't you? I love the CAS card sledding card with the sled silhouette on the impressed snow. What a cool effect! I think though that the middle card with the layered trees is my favorite......you've shown just how striking these are without any other embellishments! Can't wait for next month!

I love how Vintage-chic the first is, the second with those amazing trees is just mind blowing and the last with my newfound favorite tree and the sleigh complete with swiss dots is utterly frame-worthy. And, and, and it's only the end of the first month! Can't wait to see what else you create. Just magic!
