CR84FN Happy Birthday

I am working to build up a stash of birthday cards--it seems like I can never have enough.  I made a birthday card to enter this week's CR84FN44 color challenge.  The colors this week are Coral, Light Pink and Aqua.  This color scheme is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I decided to give it a go anyway.

I used Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet paper by PTI and some light pink ribbon from SU.  I also used Versa Magic Aquatic Splash ink to stamp a sheet music pattern behind the Quatrefoil die cut.  I stamped my sentiment (from Verve Big Birthday) in Slate ink by Amuse--I think it worked better than black with the soft colors of the card.

I used a design based on this card, which was originally cased from this card.

Thanks for Visiting

  1. Gorgeous card. I do love the stamping of the music behind the quatrefoil. I need to get that die. I held off on it. The flower & ribbon complement each other nicely.
I would love to have a stash of birthday cards on hand, but then again, I usually make a card based on the person I am sending it to. I need to make one for my neice's birthday on the 17th.

  7. What a classy little number this is. I love the colors as you have used them in particular. That bloom is practically popping off the page. The sheet music behind the die cut is special too. I love the fact that you have gone with half the QF die only. It looks so appealing this way. Marvellous birthday card! Mighty fine, indeed.

  8. Look at all of this! This is so smart, the very first time I have seen the quatrefoil die used on just one half of the card! You were so creative to think of that and you made a Bloom Builder flower too! Just a beautiful card. Love it!

  16. I just found you this morning and of course, had to peruse a number of your posts. I stopped in my tracks when I saw this birthday card. Love having a stash also. The music behind the cut out is awesome. Love the entire card. Thanks. Am thinking about doing my own blog, but just can't seem to find the drive to do so. I think it would be fun entering challenges, but am seriously honest that my cards don't match the level I see on yours and others blogs.
