It is time for our October Four-of-a-Kind post. This is the third in a series of monthly posts where
Cathy, Kim, Renee and I challenge ourselves to make a card out of a kit
sent to us by the hostess of the month. You can see the first
challenge here and the second challenge here.
The hostess for the month makes four kits and sends them out to each of us. We work secretly to create a card using at least 4 items from the kit. No other rules or restrictions. We are allowed to use anything else we have on hand. We get to see each others cards today, on each of our blog posts. We are scheduling our posts to go live at the same time. I can't wait to see what everyone has created.

I am the hostess this month, and I chose to create a kit using Up, Up & Away. I didn't think any of the other gals had this set. I also sent some Polka Dot Parade paper in Ocean Tides, Summer Sunrise and Ripe Avocado.
Here are all the bits I sent to everyone:
And, here is what it looked like all packaged up. I put all the little pieces in envelopes made out of maps of San Diego using the Seed Packet Die.
Now, you would think that I would have had a card in mind as I was cutting and stamping. If so, you would be mistaken. I had no idea what I would end up making, until I started playing around with all the pieces, just like everyone else did. Here is what I came up with:
Here is a peek at the inside:

and I agree with Kim...
the clouds were my favorites!!
So much fun to play with a set I've never used!
The hostess with the most-ess! What a great job you did and look at that, you took a pic of the actual packages themselves! Wow, does everyone get better and better at this as the months go on? I love your card as much as I loved making mine! The die upside down stamped with text was really smart and that polka dot layer with that cute edging against the embossed layers makes the whole card pop. Great job, I had such fun using your kit.
ReplyDeleteSuch an unbelievably cool idea that you lasses have come up with. I love how the card turned out. The upside down matstack is so fun. And those spots... Even better! Clever lady!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing all the goodies spread out - so fun! And I love the card you came up with - I'm always a sucker for a texty background, so I adore the mat stack layer!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Joyce! Your kits look wonderful (great colours and patterns!) and I love the card you made-- fabulous!
ReplyDeleteCute card. I love all the different elements. That felt cloud is adorable. The sunshine IP is one of my favorites. One day it'll end up in my cart. Love the stamping of the matstack 7 how you inverted it. And that polka dot parade. I love it. I think it is going in my cart next release.
ReplyDeleteCute card--love the polka dot balloon! You put together are great kit. It's such fun seeing what you all come up with!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous kits you created, Joyce! Your color choices and patterned paper are divine. Mat Stack 3 upside is also quite clever (that one is on my wish list). Your card turned out really very cute. Love the way you packaged your kits also ~ super job!
