My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  It's a big day of card posts for me.  Not only am I posting the 4 creations I made this weekend, but I had a go live early this morning, where I posted 8 cards I made with the card kit Tracey sent me when I was her guest at The 12 Kits of Occasions.

First up for today is this birthday card.  I started by using the PTI balloon stencil to stencil a colorful background of balloons.  Next, I die cut the sentiment out of black cardstock, and then adhered a piece of vellum to the back of the die cut.  I liked that you can see the balloons behind the die cut, but the vellum mutes the colors a bit, allowing the die cut to shine.

I am entering this card at Ink to Paper Birthday Card challenge, AAA Birthday #21: Stenciled Background, and Seize the Birthday #206: Vellum.

Next up are 2 cards that both follow the colors from MFT Color Challenge #158 and the top row of the tic tac toe challenge at The Paper Players #526 (die cut, animal, scene).  I used the MFT Critter Caravan die and sent a zebra and panda off to a birthday party.

Those zebras still wanted to party, so I made an additional card inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #526.  I thought a large stenciled balloon would make a festive stand in for the oval in the sketch.  Flowers are the gift of choice at this birthday party.

Last up is a card for the (dreaded) one layer challenge at AAA Cards #182.  I taped off a vertical strip and blended 3 different colors of Catherine Pooler inks.  Then I stamped a silhouette image and sentiment from Picket Fence Dear Best Friend.

Guest Designer...12 Kits of Occasions

Hello friends.  I am a lucky girl today, because I was invited to join my friends at The 12 Kits of Occasions as their Guest Designer this month.  Tracey is our hostess, and when she invited me to join in on the fun, I was so excited.  Way back in the day, I was one of the original members of this group, but left a few years ago when life just got a little too busy to participate every month.

Take a look at the kit Tracey sent.  Her theme was 'BIRTHDAY'.

I had such fun playing with this kit.  It was so easy to use, and before I knew it, I had made 8 cards.

The first two card were made with supplies from The Greetery.  It was especially fun to play with the colorful pinwheels.

I added a card front panel made with a STAMPloration stencil I had in my stash, and I will enter this card at the STAMPlorations Anything Goes Never Ending Challenge and the STAMPlorations January Stencil Challenge.

One of the elements of the kit was a card front panel that Tracey cut with the MFT Big Birthday Die.  I sponged Distress Oxide ink and splattered water on that panel, and was able to make 2 cards using the die cut letters as well as the left over negative panel.

I sponged Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink on another card front panel and then splattered it with water.  I used that panel to back up the die cut negative from the kit.

And, here are the 2 cards together.

Next up is this adorable critter, completely hidden by all his festive presents.  I added some balloons to make the card even more festive.

I loved the soft colors of the balloon trio in Tracey's kit.  I didn't have to do much to create this card.  I drew on the balloon strings by hand, and added my sentiment in grey ink, rather than black, in keeping with the softer color scheme of this card.

Tracey included some really fun crafty images, and I colored this mug with a rainbow of crafty tools, and added it to a card front panel I created using  MFT stars stencil.

Last but not least, I used one of the sheets of patterned paper from the kit along with  a die cut sentiment for my last card.  I really love the papers Tracey sent, and have held on to quite a few to use in the future.

Hard to believe, but I still have some leftovers from this kit.  Thanks again, Tracey, for inviting me to be your guest this month.

Llots of Llama Llove

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I'm here to post a few cards I made.  It's not quite LLama-Mania, but close.

First up is this fun card, featuring some Llamas from Memory Box.  Not sure if I will use it as a birthday card or Valentines day card, but it includes several hearts, and I am entering it at Memory Box Challenge #68: Hearts.  I have had these stamps for quite a while, and I'm not sure why I don't use them every day--they are so cute.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, WWC306: Occasions (Either Valentine or Birthday), and Use Your Stuff #414: Out With the Old.

Next up are some more llamas--these guys are mini and also soooo cute.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch # 405, and I'd also like to say a huge thanks to the team at CAS(E) this Sketch for providing so much inspiration over the years.  I am sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite inspirational challenges. :(

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes and WWC306: Occasions (Either Valentine or Birthday).

Last up is another card for next year's holiday stash.  I pulled out a very old die from Your Next Stamp called Houses on a Hill, as the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #404 was calling it's name.  I was also inspired by Addicted to CAS #189: Snow, Addicted to Stamps and More #397: Christmas, Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #177: Glitter (snow is glitter embossing paste), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, WWC306: Occasions (Christmas), and Use Your Stuff #414: Out With the Old.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I've been crafty again, so let's get right to it.

First up is this very fun birthday card, inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #525.  I used hippos and birds from MFT Happy Hippos and another bird from Birthday Bear & Friends.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #197: Animals, Use Your Stuff #414: Out with the Old (I've had these animal birthday sets from MFT for a long time, and still love them), and Seize the Birthday #206 (no twist).  Because I think this card would be perfect for a little boy, I am entering it at the Male Room #146: Animals and WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

I don't know how it happened, but I have run out of new home cards.  I made a matching pair, inspired by a design I used years ago.  This first card will be headed to my niece tomorrow.

This card is almost exactly the same, except for the blended background and placement of clouds.

I will be entering both of these cards at Use Your Stuff #414: Out with the Old (I used an old die called Home Scape from Sugar Pea) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Make Your Own Background.

My next card is another for my stash of new home cards.  I was inspired by the challenge at Less is More #435: In a Row to pull out a new-to-me Scene It More from Clearly Besotted.

I was so excited to see the new challenge at Festive Friday #0076: Chinese New Year.  I had the perfect stamp set from Mama Elephant Ni Hao.  My younger daughter was supposed to be in Shanghai this semester, but it was canceled by covid.  I will still give her this card, and we will celebrate Chines New Year here in California.  The elements of the challenge I used on my card are red, gold and dragon.

I made 2 versions of the card, as I could not decide which parts should be red or white.

I am also entering these cards at WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

I had so much fun playing with my newest stamps from Newton's Nook, Paw-some Birthday.  I used the colors from Inky Paws Challenge #140 and the sketch from The Paper Players #525.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #206 (no twist), and because I think this card would be perfect for a little boy, I am entering it at the Male Room #146: Animals and WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

Switching gears for a moment, I have a few holiday cards to post.  I am entering both of these holiday cards at the new MFT Slimline Challenge, because I used MFT Delightful Deer dies.    I am also entering these cards at Addicted to Stamps and More #397: Christmas and Retro Rubber #150: Winter Wonderland (my sentiment stamp is at least 1 year old, and the deer and birds are several years old).

And, my last card today is this multi-colored village on a snowy night.  I am entering this card at Just Us Girls #568 (inspired by the snowy night in the village), Addicted to Stamps and More #397: Christmas, Addicted to CAS #189: Snow, and Kat Scrappiness January Winter Challenge.
