Last Post of the Year

Happy New Year!!  I'm sure I am not the only person ready to say good bye to 2020 and hello to 2021.  I've been focusing on Hero Arts today.  The Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #18 challenge asks us to make a card inspired by a Hero Arts Creative Team member...so I am trying to go through my unused or underused Hero Arts supplies to play along with this challenge.

First up is this card using Hero Arts Greenhouse Peek a Boo.  I was inspired by the sample card in the Hero Arts store for this stamp.

Here is the sample that inspired me:

I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #229: inspired by something in your home (plants) and WWC302: Anything Goes.

Next up is a pair of cards, inspired by this pair of cards.

I sponged a sunset color scheme background, splashed it with diluted white paint, then cut the Torn Tree out of my panel.

Just like in the example, I made a second card using the die cut tree on a solid background.

I am entering both of these cards at Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #18WWC302: Anything Goes, and Freshly Made Sketches #466.

That's it for me today...and for this year.  Looking forward to starting fresh tomorrow.

Some Christmas Crafting

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas.  I spent some time in my craft room this week, and have some cards to share.

First up is a valentine using PTI stamps Heart Squared and Paws & Kisses.  I am linking it to the Ink to Paper Challenge to create a Valentine's card.  I am also linking this up at WWC302: Anything Goes and Inkspirational #229: Something in your home (my dog!).

Next up is a card inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #521 and the colors at MFT Color Challenge #156.

I made a set of really simple flat thank you cards for my kids to use for their Chanukah gifts.  I used a really cute Chanukah stamp set from PPP that I received as a Chanukah present.  How cool is that?  I am entering these cards at AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes + optional twist Christmas and Inkspirational #229: Something in your home (menorah).

A Blog Names Hero has a fun challenge running now to CASE your favorite card of the year.  I am CASEing this card that I made using Hero Arts Winter Village Peek a Boo.  I decided to use the same stamp set to create several very quick and CAS cards.

White cardstock heat embossed with Black Sparkle embossing powder.

Red cardstock heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.

Blackcardstock heat embossed with Winter Wonderland sparkle embossing powder.

Red cardstock heat embossed with White Sparkle embossing powder.

I will also be entering these cards at AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes + optional twist Christmas,  WWC302: Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Celebrate and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Sparkle & Shine.

Time Out #177...Reminder...Peace Love Joy

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this photo.

Here is a closer look at the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the holiday scene, and all the items in the photo that were a festive and glittery silver.
I used the Peace Love Joy die from our sponsor, Stamplorations, and die cut it out of silver glitter card stock.  I mounted it on a black card front, for maximum contrast and drama, and used a cover plate die to add some texture and interest to my card front, without taking anything away from the glittery focal image/sentiment.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and our Guest Designer, Vicky.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #380...Snowman

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SNOWMAN.  I took my So Many Snowmen stamp from Mama Elephant, and used just a portion of them to fill up a polaroid picture frame.

Now it's your turn.  How does SNOWMAN inspire you?

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Ice Cold, Inkspirational #228: Snow, and Water Cooler #301: Occasions.

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer Joanne and the design team.  We are sponsored this week by STAMPlorations.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I have a few cards to share, starting with this festive card.  I am entering this card at Festive Friday #74: Christmas (Evergreen Trees, Peace, Red, Green).  It was so quick to make because I started with a printed card front from PTI Petite Places Patterned paper and added a few mini Gnomes that were already stamped and die cut.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes + Christmas and Just Add Ink #535: Magical Creatures.

Next up is another very quick card, because I had already made the embossed card front a few months ago, when I first bought the MFT City Block background stamp.  I added a sentiment and this cute pup, and my card was done.  I am entering this card at MFT Color Challenge #155 and AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes (without the Christmas option).

Next up is an encouragement card inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown #623.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #105: Best Wishes and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (stencils and fussy cutting).

I was inspired by the challenge at Color Hue #7: Blue and Magenta and Stay Crafty with Hero #17: Thank You.  I am also entering at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (ink blending).

Last up for today is this sweet scene out the window, which so aptly represents our times.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #465 and am also entering at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (stencil).

That's it for me today.  Its warm and sunny, and we are headed to the beach with the dog.
