Happy Sunday

Hello and happy Sunday.  I am posting 2 cards that came together pretty quickly today.

First up is a card with this fun grouping of plaid trees.  The trees are cut with the Memory Box Pine Border Outline die, and I used plaid paper for the trees as well as for a mat for my focal point.  I am entering this card at Outside the Box: Playing with Plaids and The Paper Players #519: tic tac toe (Row 1--patterned paper, die cut, embossing).

Next up is this shaker card using my new Cafe All Day dies from MFT.  I almost never make shaker cards because I can rarely get them to shake, but if I have a die that has a matching shaker pouch, I always have better luck.

I am entering this card at the MFT Birthday Project Challenge: Shaker, MFT Color Challenge #154, Just Add Ink #533: Just Add "S" (Shaker), and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Food And/Or Drink.

My Crafty Thanksgiving Week

Hello and happy Saturday.  Today, I'm posting some of the cards I made over the course of this week.  The current challenge at Lawn Fawnatics #89 is Happy Holiday Critters, and I am linking up my first two cards to that challenge and at WWC299 (Occasion is Christmas/Holiday)

I created a little snowy night holiday scene with 2 of the bears from Den Sweet Den and the Forest Border die.  I just love how cute these bears are, and it reminds me of knitting for my kiddos.  I am also entering this card at Shopping Our Stash #434: Let it Snow and Just Add Ink #533: Just Add "S" (Snow)

For my second Lawn Fawn holiday critter card, I used a tag I made a while back for The 25 Days of Christmas Tags using these adorable birds, and converted it to a card, and I am entering this card at Just Add Ink #533: Just Add "S" (Singing)

Moving on to birthdays, I loved the look of that metallic paper so much on this card, I decided to use a piece of copper colored paper for my next card.  I started with a three layer die from Birch Press Epiphany, cut the first two layers from white and cut the top layer with the copper paper.

Here is a closer look at some of the details.  I used a die from Concord & 9th to cut the sentiment out of a piece of black card stock, and backed it with more of the same copper paper.  I am entering this card at Seize the Birthday #204: Sparkle & Shine and Just Add Ink #533: Just Add "S" (Shine).

My next card is inspired by the Sketch Challenge at MFT #517 and the Color Challenge #154.  This is a really fun get well card for someone who is not very sick.

My next card started as a fail, but after changing direction, I am pleased with the final result.  I swiped a piece of cardstock with Catherine Pooler ink, splattered water, then tried to do something I saw on a video with versa mark and the stamp that I will use in my next card.  That did not work, and I was left with a very pretty colored background.  I sliced it up into strips, and used it to follow the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #398.  I am also entering it at Just Add Ink #533: Just Add "S" (Strips).

Almost at the end....I started playing around with a new Hero Arts cling stamp and have 2 cards so far to show for my effort.

I white heat embossed the image and blended distress oxide inks all over.  Added this little moose I am enamored with, a popped up sentiment and WOS everywhere.  I am entering this card at Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #17: Thank You and A Blog Named Hero:  Glitter and Sparkle.

For my second card with this stamp, I heat embossed in black sparkle, sponged distress oxide ink and then cut my panel down as inspired by the current sketch at Fusion.  I am also entering this card at Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #17: Thank You and A Blog Named Hero:  Glitter and Sparkle.

I think I have 4 more spots to enter at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week, so I will enter the first 4 cards in my post over there.

Guest Designer...Just Us Girls...Very Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Saturday.  This is my last post as the Guest Designer for Just Us Girls for the month of November.  This month has gone by so quickly, and I have really enjoyed creating along with the talented team of designers at Just Us Girls.

This week is a photo challenge.  What will you create?

Here is a bigger picture of the inspiration photo.

When I saw this photo, I was inspired by the presents.  Loads and loads of festively wrapped gifts.  I wanted to pull out a stamp set I have had for a while, but hadn't seen much (if any) use.  I used Mama Elephant The Birthday Bash stamps to create my slimline card...chock full of gifts, and a few cute critters, too.  This card took quite a while to color, but I am very happy with the final project.  I am definitely going to save it for a very special someone.

True confession...when I first got this stamp, I couldn't figure out why anyone would make a stamp that was too wide to fit on a horizontal A2.  Even though I'm sure that slimline cards were already all the rage, I was not familiar with them.  Once I noticed the trend, I finally got it.  This single image fits perfectly on a slimline card.

I hope that you will have some fun with this photo and play along with Just Us Girls.

Happy & Crafty Thanksgiving

Hello and happy Thanksgiving.  I am popping in quickly before turkey time to post a birthday card to a few challenges.

I saw this really beautiful metallic paper over at Jennifer McGuires blog, and had to buy some to play with.  It comes in many colors, and I thought it would make a beautiful and simple card with dry embossing and just a sentiment.

I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #148: Birthday (my stamp, die and embossing plate are at least 5 years old), Seize the Birthday #204: Sparkle & Shine, WWC299: Occasions, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

It is so very hard to photograph...it is so shiny and reflective that you can see me as I take the photo.

Time Out #175...Reminder...Hello There

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by QUICK.

I was lucky enough to receive these adorable stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler.  I used Peeking Pets, Book and Film stamps and Essential Slimline and Pet Specs dies to create my card.

This card was actually not quick to make, but my interpretation of the challenge is that the dogs on my card are very quick!  I know that as soon as he hears some noise on the driveway or our walkway, my doggie quickly runs over the the window to see what's happening.  Often accompanied by loud barking, which, of course, I cannot show sound on my card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team.  Birch Press is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.
