Time Out #171...Reminder...

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by the following quote:

I was inspired by the coffee in the quote, and used sponsor stamp Cuppa Love from Stamplorations for my card.  I stamped my image twice, once on brown and again on red card stock, and did some fussy cutting until I had my cup just how I wanted it.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team.  Stamploration is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Guest Designer....The 12 Kits of Occasions

Hello friends.  I am a lucky girl today, because I was invited to join my friends at The 12 Kits of Occasions as their Guest Designer this month.  Kim is our hostess, and when she invited me to join in on the fun, I was so excited.  Way back in the day, I was one of the original members of this group, but left a few years ago when life just got a little too busy to participate every month.

Take a look at the goodies Kim sent in her 'LIGHTHOUSE' themed kit:

I had to grab all those adorable pirate koala bears and combine them in one card, anchored by the Comic Strip cover plate.  Aren't they cute?

Next up is this nautical scene.  Just love that fabulous light house.  I am also entering this card at Cupcake Inspiration #503: Sports (sailing).

The next 2 cards use stamps from Hero Arts Seas the Day, and I am entering both of them at A Blog Named Hero: Clean & Simple.

As usual, I have quite a few leftovers from this really fun kit.  Thank you again, Kim, for inviting me to play along with this very fun group.

CASology Week 375...Spice

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SPICE.  There are many ways you could interpret this word....I went with something pretty straight forward...when I hear the word 'spice', I immediately think of herbs and spices for cooking, so that is what I went with.

Believe it or not, I actually have a stamp set with herbs from PTI called Herb Garden.  Did you know that in ancient times, thyme was traditionally associated with courage, bravery and strength?  I did not, but love knowing that now.  I made this card as an encouragement card.

I started by sponging a light layer of ink using a stencil to mask off everything but the center of my card.  Some very simple stamping, and my card is done.

I am also going to enter this card at Retro Rubber #144:  Anything Goes (my stamps are from 2017).

Now it's your turn.  How does SPICE inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our Guest Designer, Galina, and the design team.  We are sponsored this week by Your Next Stamp.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  Popping in with a quick post of 4 cards I made this weekend.

First up is a card for the current challenge at Poppystamps Challenge #72: Cards for Kids, using the colors at Color Throwdown #612 (the colors in my photo are not true to life--the mice on the left are light aqua IRL and the squirrels and fox on the right are light blue). My sentiments are from PTI The Skinny (about the only thing skinny around here these days, what with quarantine baking, etc.) and they are probably 5 years old, so I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #144: Anything Goes.  I am also playing along at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics, AAA Birthday #17: Animals & Critters and Watercooler Wednesday #290:  All About Occasions.

I used a few of the Poppystamps Whittle dies to create 3 mini scenes on my slimline card.  The slimline dies are from Mama Elephant, and I am finding that using windows, like the ones on this filmstrip, makes it much easier to make a slimline card--otherwise the card somehow seems too big to tackle.

Next up is a card featuring the adorable new foxes from Mama Elephant--Little Fox Agenda and Winter Fox.  All those foxes, plus a few tiny snowmen and birds are making themselves at home in the snowy forest created by the PTI Winter Woods cover plate die.

I am entering this card at AAA Birthday #17: Animals & Critters, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics. and Watercooler Wednesday #290:  All About Occasions.

For my next card, I turned my attention to the upcoming holidays and made a Christmas card and will enter this card at the Ink to Paper Challenge.  My design was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #454, and I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #144: Anything Goes (my stamps are from 2015), Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics and Watercooler Wednesday #290:  All About Occasions.

Last of all today is a card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #391, and more specifically, Michele's inspiration card here.  I am also entering this card at Watercooler Wednesday #290:  All About Occasions.  My leaves are from The Greetery Petite Eucalyptus, and the texture on my boxes come from Lil Inkers Circles & Diamonds cover plate.  Always good to have a supply of sympathy cards, especially when I don't need one.

Well, that's it for me today.  Stay safe, and keep on crafting.

2 Birthdays and a Thank You

Hello and happy Thursday.  Today, I am playing with the cat from MFT Sunny Vibes.  I think that cat may be my favorite stamp from that set.  (Until I decide to play with the mouse some more).  My design today was inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #508, and I am playing along at the MFT Birthday Project.  I am also playing along with The Paper Players #509: Pets, AAA Birthday #17: Animals  Critters, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics.

Now here's a card to make you hungry.  I was inspired by the sketch at Inky Paws #132, and the colors at Just Add Ink #524.  I am linking up at Retro Rubber #144: Anything Goes (stamps are Newtons Nook Summer Scoops 3 years old), and Water Cooler Wednesday #290: All About Occasions.

Last up is a thank you card--need to replenish my stash.  I used my new Hero Arts Bare Branched Tree and a few colors of Distress Oxide ink for this clean and simple (and practically one layer) thank you card.

Let's Go Nuts!

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I have a few cards to post from yesterday.  First up I am taking Ink to Paper Here's to You stamps out for the first time to make a card for the latest ITP Birthday Challenge.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches #389 and the colors at Just us Girls #554.

Next up are 2 cards I made with the adorable squirrels from Lawn Fawn Let's Go Nuts.  This is my first stamp set featuring squirrels, and who knew how fun they could be??

I am entering both of these two cards at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics, Lawn Fawnatics #85: Awesome Autumn, Water Cooler Wednesday #290: All About Occasions.

I am also entering this first card at AAA Birthday #17: Animals and Criters and AAA Cards #174: Up to 1/3 Optional Woodland Animals.  I added texture to this card by adding white die cut trees from PTI In the Woods.

For this card, I based my scene around a tree house using the Hello Bluebird Tree House Scene dies.
