There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be FUNNY.

I am using sponsor stamps Nate & Friday by CASUAL FRIDAYS stamps.  I thought it would be fun to stamp these cuties in orange and blue, and used a funny sentiment from that same stamp set.

Our Guest Designer this week is , so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  CASUAL FRIDAYS STAMPS is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Weekend

Gradually, I am shifting away from knitting and back to cards as the weather warms up.  I made 3 cards yesterday for lots of different challenges.

First up is this card using the Poppystamps Urban Skyline die.  I am entering this at Poppystamps Challenge #51: Summer Holiday and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Travel/Vacation  --  as I was just in New York City for my first trip of the summer, and also Addicted to stamps and More #346: Anything Goes.

Next up is another card using a Poppystamps die, this one the Happy Birthday background die.  I am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #51: Summer Holiday --  this time because my daughter's birthday is in July, so celebrating her birthday is one of the major events of our summer holiday every year.

I used the colors from Color Throwdown #548, watercoloring them on the card base using PTI reinkers and a water brush, and am also entering this card at AAA Birthday #2: Use Water Colors and Seize the Birthday-- Cover the Card.  I am especially pleased at how this card came out, as the water colors are so pale and mermaidy and I managed to cover an entire card and yet still keep it pretty Clean and Simple and true to my style.

Last up is this funny/punny card, where I used some Hampton Arts stamps I have had for at least 5 years and have never seen ink.  (the shame!!)

I am entering this card at Retro Rubber #113:  Anything Goes,  Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #137: M is for Menopause, and Shopping Our Stash #398:  You're So Punny.

Happy Anniversary in Blue

Hello.  I'm popping in quickly before Zumba to post a card I made last night.  I was inspired by the challenge at Just Us Girls #492 to use 3 shades of a color and The Flower Challenge #33 to focus on background stamping.  I used PTI Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Dark Indigo, and making this card reminded me of how much I love random background stamping.  I used stamps from MFT Fall Florals.  I am also entering this card at Inkspiration #189: Garden.

CASology Week #346...Ring

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is RING.

I thought of a telephone ringing, and decided to use this Tim Holtz image I have had for ages and never inked up.  The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set named Just Saying Hi.

Now it's your turn.  How does RING inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Coni and the CASology design team.

Finally.....Some Cards...

It feels like forever since I have sat down to make some cards just for fun, but that is what I did yesterday.  I've been spending lots of time knitting lately, and that has cut into my card making time.

I just returned from bringing my oldest to New York where she will spend the summer.  As you will see from this card and the next, I still have New York on my mind.  I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Vacation, as I have just returned from my first vacation of the summer in NYC.

Yes, NYC still on my mind, where I paired Concord & 9th City Stacks with Scooter Balloons from Lil Inker.

I was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colors and Sketches #325 and the colors at this week's Color Throwdown #547.  I am also entering at Seize the Birthday #167: Anything Goes.

Last up is a simple sympathy card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #326.

CASology Week #345...Calm

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is CALM.

I thought of a cat, calm and cool in the face of everything.  And, sometimes, just a bit of rest and calm is just what the doctor ordered.

Now it's your turn.  How does CALM inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.
