CASology Week #289...Fit

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is FIT.  I immediately thought of fitness--something I am always working towards with mixed success.  It is so hard to get in shape, and it goes so quickly if I miss a few workouts.

I made an inspirational card to encourage a friend (or myself) to keep at their fitness goals.

Now it's your turn.  How does FIT inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

PTI February 2018 Blog Hop

I am popping in quickly today to participate in the PTI February 2018 Blog Hop.  We have this fun photo to inspire us.

I don't have any Easter stamps from PTI, so I decided to go with the theme of spring, playing on the green grasses and bits of color nestled within.  I pulled out a very old PTI stamp set, Daydreamer for my card.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is to create your own background.  I used a PTI Impression Plate as a quick way to create a textured background.

Enjoy the hop.  I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has created.

With Heartfelt Sympathy and Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Saturday.  I'm playing along with several challenges today with 2 different cards.

First up is a card inspired by the video at Make it Monday #312: Framing Sentiments and Images.

I used some new PTI stamps --Penned Elegance and Lilies of the Valley, as well as a die from several layers of Embroidered Borders.  Before stacking and adhering the border die cuts, I dry embossed just the top layer with a woodgrain embossing plate.  I am entering this card at Less is More #365, where the challenge is to use dry embossing for only a small area around your focal point.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #397: Just add "H"  My "H" is 'heartfelt.

My next card is inspired by a new PTI challenge--Transformation Tuesday.  I chose to remake this card I have had in my stash forever.  I never use it because the entire front is clear, so no place to write a message.  I made this card years ago for a Make it Monday challenge to use clear card stock, but was not really thinking about how impractical it would be.

Here is my original card:

Original Card
To transform this card, I remade it without using any clear card stock.  I used the same stamp set, Asian Fusion--one of my oldest and most favorite sets, same sentiment and same color scheme.

Here is my transformed card:

I am happy with how this card turned out.  I feel like it is a more practical and updated design, yet it is possible to see how it was inspired by the original card.  Rather than a vertical panel of kraft card stock, I substituted one of the stamped images in the set, stamped horizontally twice in kraft.  I stamped that on the base of the card, then stamped everything else on a separate panel, which I then attached with foam tape.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday, without toppings.

CASology Week #288...Pun

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is PUN.

There are so many wonderfully punny stamp sets around.  I am not the hugest fan of puns, and even I had a hard time choosing from the many clever, punny stamps I have.  In the end, I decided to use this cute little Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs set.

Super simple and sweet.  I colored the hedgehogs with Copics and then traced them with  a grey copic marker.  It gives the illusion of some depth, even though the card is basically one layer.

Now it's your turn.  How does PUN inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We have a new challenge for you at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is:

No secret what my hobby is!  I won this little stamp set years ago, and I'm not even sure where.  I thought it was perfect for this challenge.  I used my Copic markers to color the markers.

Our Guest Designer this week is Ashwini, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  CAS-ual Fridays is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

CASology Week #287...Together

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is TOGETHER.  What do you like to do together with someone else?  I decided it would be fun to have a panda birthday party together.

I stamped and masked a bunch of Mama Elephant Pandas to create a panda party.

Now it's your turn.  How does TOGETHER inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Hooray and Happy Anniversary

I'm popping in quickly to post two cards I made today for some challenges.  PTI's Release Day 2 challenge is to make a card with only dies and no stamps.  I used the color scheme from this week's CAS Colours & Sketches #258 and Text Block You Did It for my card.

Playing along with several love themed challenges, I have this anniversary card with these swans in love.  I am entering this card at AAA Cards #108:  All You Need is Love, Simon Says Monday Challenge: Love is in the Air and Simon Says Wednesday: Challenge It Most Be Love.

My Crafty Week

I played along with several of the PTI Anniversary challenges this week.  Here goes...

I made this card for the PTI Day 4 Floral Challenge and was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #258.  I'll also enter it at Seize the Birthday, without the toppings option.  I used Sweet Spring--and old set but one of my favorites.  Masked the center image to add more flowers on either side and colored with Copic markers.

My next card is for the PTI Transformation Tuesday challenge on Day 3.  I started with a card I made a while ago--I wasn't happy with it and never posted or sent it.  It seemed a little 'blah' to me.

Original Card
This card was one layer.  I cut the front to a 4 by 5 1/4 size, inlaid the die cut in a darker shade of green, and added one more hand cut piece of the sentiment.

Transformed Card
I am much happier with the new design.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #126: Dies.

My next 2 cards were inspired by the PTI Retirement Challenge from Day 5.  It looks like they are retiring most of the Boy Basics stamps, so I pulled mine out and made a couple of valentines.

I used Boy Basic Frog Hop and Heart Squared to create this valentine.  After stamping the frame of hearts, I cut it out, stacked it 3 high, and then inlaid the stack back into the negative space.  The partial frog is peeking into the window and the full frog is stuck on top.

I am also entering this card at CAS-ual Fridays #192: Hearts, Inkspirational #154: Aperture, and AAA Cards #108: All You Need is Love.

Another Valentine using a soon-to-be-retired stamp, Hello Foxy.  I am entering this card at Cupcake Inspirations #439: Love, Happy Little Stampers February CAS challenge: Hearts, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: It Must Be Love.

Last up is my 3rd Valentine with the same design.  I had to make them similar as they are going to 3 sisters and they like getting the same things.

I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #278: Holiday, Happy Little Stampers February Anything Goes with Dies challenge, and Simon Says Monday Challenge:  Love is in the Air.

That's it for me today.  I hope to have some more for tomorrow.
