Muse #91

Hi there.   I am playing along with Muse #91, where Michele has challenged us to choose a single sheet of designer paper and make a trio of cards.  Just look at what Michele did.  Isn't it stunning?

I went through my 12 X12 stash and selected a sheet I had been hoarding because of how much I loved it.  My paper is Bella Blvd. Christmas Countdown City Sidewalks.

Could I really cut into it?  Yes, I did.  Ha ha--my secret trick is that I bought 2 sheets--one to use and one to hoard.  Here is my trio of holiday cards.

I think this one might be my favorite.  I cut out some of the house and tree images from the paper and created a scene with my Mama Elephant stitched border dies and a sentiment from PTI.

A simple row of houses cut from the paper nestled between a Pure Poppy border and another PTI sentiment.

And last, another row of houses with a different PTI sentiment.  That polka dotted paper at the top is the back side of the pattern paper I used.

This was a really fun challenge, and I am glad that I decided to actually use a piece of paper I had been hoarding.  I am also entering these cards at Christmas Card Challenges Anything Goes.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: October 2014

Happy end of October!  We are posting one day early this month due to Halloween.  Our hostess this month is Jessica, and her kit is supposed to be all about fall and thanks.  I will add one more thing, because with Jessica, it is always about the cute, and this kit is no exception.  Take a look at all the cuteness Jessica sent in her kit.  Such wonderful fall colors and patterns, and cute critters, too.

I made 4 cards from Jessica's kit.  And, as always, I have so many fun leftovers that I will use to CASE some of the projects I see on reveal day.

I think this might be my favorite card.  I cannot believe that I do not already own this Lawn Fawn set.  How can that be?  I am linking this cutie up at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

I used the sketch at Retro Sketches for my next card.  I loved the way Jessica inked up this beautiful stamp.  I need to ask her how she got so many colors onto one stamp.  I was able to use several of the different patterned papers on this card.

I used the sketch at Paper Players for my next card.  I fussy cut and colored these two cute little girls.

My last card literally made itself.  When I spread all my kit ingredients around, the turkey and pumpkin landed on top of the stamped subways.  I liked how it looked, and just glued them down.

That's all for me today.  I cannot wait to see what everyone else made with their kits.  Thanks so much, Jessica, for sending such a wonderful kit.  Please click here if you would like to see a supply list.  And, you can click here to see our 12 kits blog post.

Now, you can hop on over to the other designers in the group to see what they did with their kits.

Lots of Pink Today

Laurie has a really fun Make it Monday video about partial die cut stamping, and I am playing along.  I've got two cards using this technique to spiff up some pink balloons, which is one of the challenges at SCS Hope You Can Cling To

I used Funky Flowers stamped in Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz inks on Sweet Blush for this card.

On this card, I used Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz and Momento Angel Pink inks on white.  The colors are so off on this photo--the 'celebrate' die cut is Raspberry Fizz.

This last card is for a background stamping challenge at SCS Hope You Can Cling To.  I used Distress ink and a round mini blender tool and just kept pouncing until I liked how it looked.

I will be entering all of these cards at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes, Seize the Birthday (without Washi toppings) and sending them off to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

CASology Week 119: GHOST

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another CASology challenge and this week, our cue word is GHOST. Very fitting as Halloween is just around the corner.  I realized that I do not have any ghost stamps, but fortunately I have a whole bunch of die cut ghosts and other scary stuff courtesy of my many stamping friends.

Aren't these ghosts holding hands just the cutest things?  I would SO give them candy if they came to my house to trick or treat.

I made another ghost card before I made this one.  I liked it, but thought maybe it was not CAS enough.  I am sharing it here today in the hopes that it still may inspire someone.  I do not know why this ghost is saying 'boo'--he is really quite friendly.

Now, it is your turn.  What do you think of when you see the word GHOST?  Have some fun with the cue word GHOST, and then please link up your creation on the CASology blog by Monday at noon (CST).

Check out the beautiful designs from the CASology Design Team members and see how they were inspired by GHOST.  Don't forget to keep your card Clean and Simple.

Just a Note and Joy Filled Season

Happy Monday.  I am sneaking in at the last moment with a card for The Card Concept #21.  I knew I wanted to ink up Botanical Blocks, and only got around to it just in the nick of time.  I believe this card falls into the 'clean and layered' category.  I embossed the image in black and then colored with Copics.

I'm playing along with the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #97 as well as the Get Crafty and Use Kraft challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Festive Friday #43, and Anything Goes Challenge #48 at Christmas Card Challenges.  This card will go to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I just love these little gingerbread men from Tremendous Treats.  They make me smile every time I look at them.

PTI October 2014 Blog Hop

I'm playing along with the PTI October Blog Hop, where the challenge is to make holiday cards with various color schemes.  I tried to use some older sets, and also to use all the color schemes.   It's getting late, so I'll be brief.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #159.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #97.

I ran out of time to make something for the last 2 color schemes.  Perhaps I'll have some time later on.  In the meantime, that's all for now.

CASology 118 and Paper Smooches Sparks

Hi there.  I am popping in quickly to share another card I made for this week's CASology HOME challenge.  I am also playing along with Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge.

All the stamping is from Paper Smooches Bitty Bungalows, and there are lots of different dies on this card--Poppy Stamps for the houses, Memory box for the trees, Simon Says Stamp for the curved hill and Mama Elephant for the stitched clouds.  Ahhhh, I do love my dies.
